8:1 Եւ յորժամ եղեւ եւ կատարեցա՛ւ այս ամենայն: Թագաւորեաց Արտաշէս արքայ ’ի վերայ Պարսից: Առ որ երթեալ Եզրի, որդւոյ Ազարիայ, որդւոյ Եզերիայ, որ ’ի Քեղկեայ, որ ’ի Սաղեմայ^[109]:	8:1 And after these things, when Artexerxes the king of the Persians reigned came Esdras the son of Saraias, the son of Ezerias, the son of Helchiah, the son of Salum:

8:2 որ ’ի Յադուկայ, որ ’ի Յաքիտովբայ, որ ’ի Յամարէթայ, որ ’ի Յաղեկայ, որ ’ի Մարերովթայ, որ ’ի Զարեայ, որ ’ի Սեուիայ, որ ’ի Բովկեայ, որ ’ի Յաբասեայ, որ ’ի Փենեեսէ, որ յԵղիազարայ, որ յԱհարոնէ առաջին քահանայէ^[110]:	8:2 The son of Sadduc, the son of Achitob, the son of Amarias, the son of Ezias, the son of Meremoth, the son of Zaraias, the son of Savias, the son of Boccas, the son of Abisum, the son of Phinees, the son of Eleazar, the son of Aaron the chief priest:

8:3 Ա՛յս Եզր որ ել ’ի Բաբելոնէ. որ է գրիչ յաջողակ օրինացն Մովսիսի տուելոց յԱստուծոյ Իսրայէլի^[111]:	8:3 This Esdras went up from Babylon, as a scribe, being very ready in the law of Moses, that was given by the God of Israel:

8:4 Եւ ետ նմա թագաւորն մեծ փառս. եւ գտեալ շնորհս առաջի նորա փառաւորեաց զնա մեծաւ պատուով:	8:4 And the king did him honour: for he found grace in his sight in all his requests:

8:5 Եւ ելին ընդ նմա յորդւոցն Իսրայէլի, եւ ’ի քահանայիցն, եւ ’ի ղեւտացւոց, եւ ’ի պաշտօնէիցն փսալտաց, եւ ’ի դռնապանաց, եւ ’ի ծառայից քահանայիցն յԵրուսաղէմ:	8:5 There went up with him also certain of the children of Israel, of the priest of the Levites, of the holy singers, porters, and ministers of the temple, unto Jerusalem:

8:6 Յամի եւթներորդի թագաւորութեանն Արտաշեսի արքայի, յամսեանն հինգերորդի, որ էր ամ եւթներորդ թագաւորին. ելեալ ’ի Բաբելոնէ յամսամտին առաջնոյ ամսեանն, եւ յամսամտի հինգերորդ ամսեանն^[112]:	8:6 In the seventh year of the reign of Artexerxes, in the fifth month, this was the king' s seventh year; for they went from Babylon in the first day of the first month:

8:7 եմուտ յԵրուսաղէմ. որպէս եւ յաջողեաց նմա Տէր զճանապարհն:	8:7 KJV [6] and came to Jerusalem, according to the prosperous journey which the Lord gave them:

8:8 Քանզի լցեալ էր Եզր ամենայն իմաստութեամբ, եւ ո՛չ ինչ պակա՛ս էր ’ի նմանէ յամենայն ’ի պատուիրանացն Տեառն. եւ ըստ օրինացն Տեառն ուսուցանէր Իսրայէլի զամենայն դատաստանս եւ զիրաւունս:	8:8 KJV [7] For Esdras had very great skill, so that he omitted nothing of the law and commandments of the Lord, but taught all Israel the ordinances and judgments:

8:9 Եհա՛ս գիր հրամանի Արտաշիսի թագաւորի առ Եզր քահանայ եւ պատմիչ օրինացն Տեառն. եւ էր գրեալ զա՛յս օրինակ:	8:9 KJV [8] Now the copy of the commission, which was written from Artexerxes the king, and came to Esdras the priest and reader of the law of the Lord, is this that followeth:

8:10 Թագաւո՛ր Արտաշէս` Եզրի քահանայի` եւ պատմչի օրինացն Տեառն ողջոյն^[113]:	8:10 KJV [9] King Artexerxes unto Esdras the priest and reader of the law of the Lord sendeth greeting:

8:11 Ամենայն մարդասէր կամօք կշռելով իմ. հրամայեցի ամենայն ազգաց Հրէաստանի, որ կամիցին ելանել յԵրուսաղէմ. եւ քահանայապետիցն եւ ղեւտացւոց, համարձակութիւն լիցի ընդ քե՛զ երթալ յԵրուսաղէմ^[114]:	8:11 KJV [10] Having determined to deal graciously, I have given order, that such of the nation of the Jews, and of the priests and Levites being within our realm, as are willing and desirous should go with thee unto Jerusalem:

8:12 եւ որպէս փափաքեն ցանկութեամբ հասանել ’ի Հրէաստան` եւ յԵրուսաղէմ. հրամայեցաք ե՛ս` եւ եւթն խորհրդակիցք իմ:	8:12 KJV [11] As many therefore as have a mind thereunto, let them depart with thee, as it hath seemed good both to me and my seven friends the counsellors:

8:13 զի երթեալ` ըստ օրինացն կատարեսցեն զամենայն^[115]:	8:13 KJV [12] That they may look unto the affairs of Judea and Jerusalem, agreeably to that which is in the law of the Lord:

8:14 եւ մատուսցեն զպատարագս տեառն Աստուծոյ Իսրայէլի. որպէս ուխտեցաք ե՛ս եւ սիրելիք իմ յԵրուսաղէմ. եւ զամենայն ոսկի եւ արծաթ` որչափ եւ գտցի յերկրիս Բաբելացւոց, տեառն Աստուծոյ մատուսցեն պատարագս յԵրուսաղէմ^[116]:	8:14 KJV [13] And carry the gifts unto the Lord of Israel to Jerusalem, which I and my friends have vowed, and all the gold and silver that in the country of Babylon can be found, to the Lord in Jerusalem:

8:15 Եւ առեալ նպաստաւորութիւն յերկրէս Բաբելացւոց քահանայից տեառն Աստուծոյ տարցին յԵրուսաղէմ, ոսկի եւ արծաթ, եւ զուարակս, խոյս եւ գառինս, եւ զայլ ամենայն զոհս նուիրացն:	8:15 KJV [14] With that also which is given of the people for the temple of the Lord their God at Jerusalem: and that silver and gold may be collected for bullocks, rams, and lambs, and things thereunto appertaining:

8:16 մատուսցե՛ն ’ի սեղան տեառն Աստուծոյ յԵրուսաղէմ:	8:16 KJV [15] To the end that they may offer sacrifices unto the Lord upon the altar of the Lord their God, which is in Jerusalem:

8:17 Եւ զամենայն ինչ` որպէս եւ կամիցիս հանդերձ եղբարբքդ քովք` արասցե՛ս, վասն ոսկւոյ եւ արծաթոյ հարկացն ըստ կամաց` տեառն Աստուծոյ քոյ կատարեսջիր^[117]:	8:17 KJV [16] And whatsoever thou and thy brethren will do with the silver and gold, that do, according to the will of thy God:

8:18 եւ զքահանայական զկահ, եւ զսպասն Տեառն տարեալ յԵրուսաղէմ:	8:18 KJV [17] And the holy vessels of the Lord, which are given thee for the use of the temple of thy God, which is in Jerusalem:

8:19 արասջի՛ր ըստ պիտոյից տաճարին տեառն Աստուծոյ. եւ եդեալ զամենայն առաջի տեառն Աստուծոյ քոյ յԵրուսաղէմ^[118]:	8:19 KJV [18] thou shalt set before thy God in Jerusalem:

8:20 եւ զա՛յլ եւս աւելորդս եւ մնացուածս որ ինչ եւ իցեն ’ի պէտս տաճարին, դիցեն զայն ’ի տունս գանձից թագաւորաց^[119]:	8:20 KJV [19] And whatsoever thing else thou shalt remember for the use of the temple of thy God, thou shalt give it out of the king' s treasury:

8:21 Եւ ե՛ս Արտաշէս թագաւոր հրամայեցի գանձաւորաց որ են յԱսորեստանի, եւ ’ի կողմանս Քանանացւոց, որչափ եւ կամեսցի՛ առնուլ Եզր քահանայ եւ պատմիչ օրինաց տեառն Աստուծոյ Բարձրելոյ, անխափա՛ն տաջիք նմա արծաթ` տաղանտս հարիւր. ըստ նմին օրինակի:	8:21 KJV [20] And I king Artexerxes have also commanded the keepers of the treasures in Syria and Phenice, that whatsoever Esdras the priest and the reader of the law of the most high God shall send for, they should give it him with speed, KJV [20] To the sum of an hundred talents of silver:

8:22 եւ ցորեան քոռս հարիւր, եւ գինի եւ ձէթ` նո՛յնչափ^[120]:	8:22 KJV [21] likewise also of wheat even to an hundred cors, and an hundred pieces of wine, and other things in abundance:

8:23 եւ զամենայն ըստ օրինացն առեալ կատարեսցեն տեառն Աստուծոյ Բարձրելոյ. զի մի՛ լիցի ցասումն յԱստուծոյ ’ի վերայ թագաւորութեան իմոյ` եւ որդւոյ իմոյ:	8:23 KJV [21] Let all things be performed after the law of God diligently unto the most high God, that wrath come not upon the kingdom of the king and his sons:

8:24 Եւ հրամայեալ վասն ձեր քահանայիցդ եւ ղեւտացւոց, եւ սաղմոսասաց պաշտօնէիցդ, եւ դռնապանաց, եւ ծառայից քահանայից, եւ սպասաւորաց տան Տեառն:	8:24 KJV [22] I command you also, that ye require no tax, nor any other imposition, of any of the priests, or Levites, or holy singers, or porters, or ministers of the temple, or of any that have doings in this temple:

8:25 մի՛ զհարկս ինչ` եւ մի՛ զա՛յլ ինչ` ոք ամենեւին իշխեսցէ ’ի դոցանէ պահանջել:	8:25 KJV [22] and that no man have authority to impose any thing upon them:

8:26 Եւ դու` Եզր, ըստ իմաստութեան քում որ տուեալ է քեզ յԱստուծոյ, կացո՛ վերակացուս եւ դատաւորս, որք դատեսցին զկողմանս Ասորւոց եւ Փիւնիկեցւոց. ամենեքեան որոց ուսեալ իցէ զօրէնս տեառն Աստուծոյ քո^[121]:	8:26 KJV [23] And thou, Esdras, according to the wisdom of God ordain judges and justices, that they may judge in all Syria and Phenice all those that know the law of thy God; and those that know it not thou shalt teach:

8:27 եւ որ ո՛չն գիտիցեն` ուսուսջի՛ր. եւ ամենեքեան որ անցանիցեն զօրինօքն տեառն Աստուծոյ քոյ, եւ զօրինօք մեր թագաւորաց. տուեալ քեզ իշխանութիւն պատուհասե՛լ եւ խոշտանգել. եւ եթէ մահապարտ իցեն` սպանանե՛լ, կամ թէ պատուհասի արժանի` պատուհասել` եւ տուգա՛նս պահանջել^[122]:	8:27 KJV [24] And whosoever shall transgress the law of thy God, and of the king, shall be punished diligently, whether it be by death, or other punishment, by penalty of money, or by imprisonment:

8:28 Եւ ասէ Եզր գրիչ օրինացն Տեառն. Օրհնեալ է տէր Աստուած հարցն մերոց, որ ե՛տ զայս ամենայն ’ի սիրտս թագաւորի փառաւորե՛լ զտաճարն Տեառն որ յԵրուսաղէմ^[123]:	8:28 KJV [25] Then said Esdras the scribe, Blessed be the only Lord God of my fathers, who hath put these things into the heart of the king, to glorify his house that is in Jerusalem:

8:29 եւ զիս մեծապէ՛ս պատուեաց առաջի թագաւորին, եւ առաջի ամենայն խորհրդականաց նորա, եւ սիրելեաց` եւ ամենայն մեծամեծաց նորա:	8:29 KJV [26] And hath honoured me in the sight of the king, and his counsellors, and all his friends and nobles:

8:30 եւ եղէ ես զուարճացեալ յոյժ օգնութեամբք տեառն Աստուծոյ իմոյ: Եւ ժողովեաց զամենայն արս Իսրայէլի որք ելեալ էին ընդ նմա յԵրուսաղէմ^[124]:	8:30 KJV [27] Therefore was I encouraged by the help of the Lord my God, and gathered together men of Israel to go up with me:

8:31 Եւ ա՛յս են իշխանք ըստ նահապետութեան հարցն իւրեանց. եւ ըստ բաժնից ցեղիցն իւրեանց որք ելին ընդ Եզրի ’ի Բաբելոնէ, ’ի թագաւորութեանն Արտաշիսի արքայի:	8:31 KJV [28] And these are the chief according to their families and several dignities, that went up with me from Babylon in the reign of king Artexerxes:

8:32 Յորդւոցն Փենեէսի` Գերսոն. յորդւոցն ’ի Թամարայ` Գամայէլ. յորդւոցն Դաւթայ` Փարէս:	8:32 KJV [29] Of the sons of Phinees, Gerson: of the sons of Ithamar, Gamael: of the sons of David, Lettus the son of Sechenias:

8:33 յորդւոցն Փորոսեայ` Զաքարիաս, եւ որք ընդ նմա էին գերեալ արք հարիւր յիսուն^[125]:	8:33 KJV [30] Of the sons of Pharez, Zacharias; and with him were counted an hundred and fifty men:

8:34 Յորդւոցն Փաաթմովաբ, Եղիա, Ովնիաս, Զարեա, եւ ընդ նմա արք երկերիւր:	8:34 kJV [31] Of the sons of Pahath Moab, Eliaonias, the son of Zaraias, and with him two hundred men:

8:35 յորդւոցն Զաթսեսայ` Յեզոնիաս, Յեթեղեայ, եւ ընդ նմա արք երեք հարիւր^[126]:	8:35 KJV [32] Of the sons of Zathoe, Sechenias the son of Jezelus, and with him three hundred men: of the sons of Adin, Obeth the son of Jonathan, and with him two hundred and fifty men:

8:36 Յորդւոցն Ադինոբայ` Յովնաթանու, եւ ընդ նմա արք երեք հարիւր յիսուն. յորդւոցն Եղամեսեայ` Գոդողիա, եւ ընդ նմա արք եւթանասուն^[127]:	8:36 KJV [33] Of the sons of Elam, Josias son of Gotholias, and with him seventy men:

8:37 յորդւոցն Սափատիայ` Զաքարիաս Միքայելեանց, եւ ընդ նմա արք եւթանասուն:	8:37 KJV [34] Of the sons of Saphatias, Zaraias son of Michael, and with him threescore and ten men:

8:38 Յորդւոցն Յովաբայ` Աբադիսեր Եզելեանց, եւ ընդ նմա արք երկերիւր եւ երկոտասան:	8:38 KJV [35] Of the sons of Joab, Abadias son of Jezelus, and with him two hundred and twelve men:

8:39 յորդւոցն Բանեայ` Ասաղիմովթ Յովսափեանց, եւ ընդ նմա արք հարիւր վաթսուն:	8:39 KJV [36] Of the sons of Banid, Assalimoth son of Josaphias, and with him an hundred and threescore men:

8:40 Յորդւոցն Բէերայ` Զաքարիայ Բերեայ, եւ ընդ նմա արք քսան եւ ութ:	8:40 KJV [37] Of the sons of Babi, Zacharias son of Bebai, and with him twenty and eight men:

8:41 յորդւոցն Աստաթայ` Յովհանէս Կատանայ, եւ ընդ նմա արք հարիւր տասն:	8:41 KJV [38] Of the sons of Astath, Johannes son of Acatan, and with him an hundred and ten men:

8:42 Յորդւոցն Ադոնիկամայ` Էսփատայ. եւ այս անուանք նոցա. Եղիփաղատ. Գեւուէլ, Սամեաս, եւ ընդ նոսա արք եւթանասուն. յորդւոցն Բանեայ Ութիաստաւկուրեանց, եւ ընդ նմա արք եւթանասուն^[128]:	8:42 KJV [39] Of the sons of Adonikam the last, and these are the names of them, Eliphalet, Jewel, and Samaias, and with them seventy men: KJV [40] Of the sons of Bago, Uthi the son of Istalcurus, and with him seventy men:

8:43 Եւ ժողովեալ զնոսա յեզր գետոյն, որ անուանի Թերա` եւ արարեալ օթեւա՛նս անդ աւուրս երիս. եւ արարեալ համար ամենեցուն:	8:43 And these I gathered together to the river called Theras, where we pitched our tents three days: and then I surveyed them:

8:44 յորդւոցն քահանայից, եւ յորդւոցն ղեւտացւոց` ո՛չ ոք գտաւ առ նոսա:	8:44 KJV [42] But when I had found there none of the priests and Levites:

8:45 Եւ առաքեցի առ Եղիազար. եւ եկին առ իս Սամեաս, եւ Որիբոն, եւ Նաթան, Եննատան, Զաքարիա, եւ Մոսողաբոն. ա՛յս իշխանքն եւ վարդապետք օրինացն:	8:45 KJV [43] Then sent I unto Eleazar, and Iduel, and Masman, KJV [44] And Alnathan, and Mamaias, and Joribas, and Nathan, Eunatan, Zacharias, and Mosollamon, principal men and learned:

8:46 Եւ ասացի ցնոսա երթալ առ Ղոդէոն իշխան գանձաւորացն:	8:46 KJV [45] And I bade them that they should go unto Saddeus the captain, who was in the place of the treasury:

8:47 եւ պատուիրեցի նոցա ասել ցՂոդէոն, եւ ցեղբարս նորա, եւ որ միանգամ ե՛ն ’ի տեղւոջ գանձաւորացն, առաքե՛լ առ մեզ ’ի քահանայիցն տանն Տեառն:	8:47 KJV [46] And commanded them that they should speak unto Daddeus, and to his brethren, and to the treasurers in that place, to send us such men as might execute the priests' office in the house of the Lord:

8:48 Եւ ածին առ մեզ արք որ էին զօրաւո՛րք ըստ բանի Տեառն. եւ գիտո՛ւնք յօրէնս Տեառն. որդւոցն Մոողեայ, որ ’ի Ղեւեայն, եւ յԻսրայէլէ, Ասերեւան, եւ զորդիս նորա եւ զեղբարս ութեւտասն^[129]:	8:48 KJV [47] And by the mighty hand of our Lord they brought unto us skilful men of the sons of Moli the son of Levi, the son of Israel, Asebebia, and his sons, and his brethren, who were eighteen:

8:49 եւ Ասեբիան, եւ Անունոն, եւ Ոսետան եղբայր. յորդւոցն Քանունեայ` եւ որդիք նորա արք քսան:	8:49 KJV [48] And Asebia, and Annus, and Osaias his brother, of the sons of Channuneus, and their sons, were twenty men:

8:50 եւ ’ի ծառայից քահանայիցն զորս ե՛տ Դաւիթ իշխան ’ի գո՛րծ սպասաւորութեան ղեւտացւոց, որոց գրեցան անուանք նշանաւորացն քսան^[130]:	8:50 KJV [49] And of the servants of the temple whom David had ordained, and the principal men for the service of the Levites to wit, the servants of the temple two hundred and twenty, the catalogue of whose names were shewed:

8:51 Եւ քարոզեցաք անդ պա՛հս, եւ մատուցաք աղօ՛թս առաջի տեառն Աստուծոյ մերոյ, խնդրե՛լ դիւրութիւն եւ յաջողութիւն մե՛զ եւ որդւոց մերոց. եւ ամենայն ինչ որ ընդ մե՛զ էր^[131]:	8:51 KJV [50] And there I vowed a fast unto the young men before our Lord, to desire of him a prosperous journey both for us and them that were with us, for our children, and for the cattle:

8:52 վասն զի ծանրութիւն համարեցաք խնդրել ’ի թագաւորէն հետեւակս եւ հեծեալս յուղարկաւորս ընդ մեզ վասն զգուշութեան այնոցիկ որք ընդդիմանային մեզ:	8:52 KJV [51] For I was ashamed to ask the king footmen, and horsemen, and conduct for safeguard against our adversaries:

8:53 քանզի ասացաք ցթագաւորն այսպէս. թէ զօրութիւն տեառն Աստուծոյ մերո՛յ է ընդ մեզ, եւ ընդ ամենեսեան ոյք խնդրեն զնա:	8:53 KJV [52] For we had said unto the king, that the power of the Lord our God should be with them that seek him, to support them in all ways:

8:54 Եւ վասն ա՛յսր ամենայնի քարոզեալ պահս եւ խնդրուածս, զի Տէր պահեսցէ զմեզ, եւ յաջողեսցէ մեզ ’ի ճանապարհս խաղաղութեան:	8:54 KJV [53] And again we besought our Lord as touching these things, and found him favourable unto us:

8:55 Եւ որոշեցաք զգլխաւորս ցեղից քահանայիցն` արս երկոտասան, եւ զԵսեբիան, եւ զԱսամիան, եւ ընդ նոսա յեղբարց նոցա արս տասն^[132]:	8:55 KJV [54] Then I separated twelve of the chief of the priests, Esebrias, and Assanias, and ten men of their brethren with them:

8:56 Եւ կշռեցաք եւ տուաք ցնոսա զարծաթ եւ զոսկի, եւ զսպաս քահանայութեան կահու տանն Տեառն` զոր պարգեւեաց մեզ թագաւորն եւ խորհրդակիցք նորա, եւ իշխանք` եւ ամենայն Իսրայէլ:	8:56 KJV [55] And I weighed them the gold, and the silver, and the holy vessels of the house of our Lord, which the king, and his council, and the princes, and all Israel, had given:

8:57 եւ կշռեալ ետու ցնոսա արծաթ` տաղանտս վեց հարիւր յիսուն. եւ սպաս արծաթոյ հարիւր տաղանտ. եւ ոսկւոյ տաղանտս հարիւր:	8:57 KJV [56] And when I had weighed it, I delivered unto them six hundred and fifty talents of silver, and silver vessels of an hundred talents, and an hundred talents of gold:

8:58 եւ այլ կահ ոսկւոյ քսան. եւ կահ պղնձոյ սուրբ եւ մաքուր ոսկեգոյն` երկոտասան:	8:58 KJV [57] And twenty golden vessels, and twelve vessels of brass, even of fine brass, glittering like gold:

8:59 Եւ ասացի ցնոսա. Եւ դուք սրբեալք Տեառն էք, եւ ամենայն սպասդ սուրբ` Տեառն է, եւ ոսկեղէնք եւ արծաթեղէնք. աղօ՛թս արարէք առ Տէր. եւ տէր Աստուած հարցն մերոց պահեսցէ եւ հասուսցէ խաղաղութեամբ ’ի տեղի սրբութեան իւրոյ:	8:59 KJV [58] And I said unto them, Both ye are holy unto the Lord, and the vessels are holy, and the gold and the silver is a vow unto the Lord, the Lord of our fathers:

8:60 Արթո՛ւն կացէք եւ պահեցէ՛ք, մինչեւ հասուցեալ տարջիք զդոսա ցգլխաւորս քահանայիցն եւ ղեւտացւոց` եւ ցիշխանս հայրապետաց Իսրայէլի որ են յԵրուսաղէմ^[133]:	8:60 KJV [59] Watch ye, and keep them till ye deliver them to the chief of the priests and Levites, and to the principal men of the families of Israel, in Jerusalem, into the chambers of the house of our God:

8:61 զոր առեալ պահապանաց տաճարին Տեառն, եւ քահանայապետիցն եւ ղեւտացւոց զարծաթ եւ զոսկի, եւ զկահ սպասուդ` տարցին ’ի տաճարն Տեառն որ է յԵրուսաղէմ:	8:61 KJV [60] So the priests and the Levites, who had received the silver and the gold and the vessels, brought them unto Jerusalem, into the temple of the Lord:

8:62 Եւ յարուցեալ չուեցաք ’ի գետոյն Թերայ, որ օր երկոտասան էր ամսոյն առաջնոյ, եւ եկաք հասաք յԵրուսաղէմ. պահպանեալք բարձրացեալ եւ զօրացեալ ձեռամբ Տեառն. եւ փրկեաց զմեզ տէր Աստուած մեր յամենայն թշնամեաց մերոց. եւ հասաք ողջամբ եւ խաղաղութեամբ յԵրուսաղէմ^[134]:	8:62 KJV [61] And from the river Theras we departed the twelfth day of the first month, and came to Jerusalem by the mighty hand of our Lord, which was with us: and from the beginning of our journey the Lord delivered us from every enemy, and so we came to Jerusalem:

8:63 Եւ յորժամ հանգեաք աւուրս երիս յԵրուսաղէմ, յաւուրն չորրորդի կշռեալ տուաք զարծաթն եւ զոսկի ’ի տուն տեառն Աստուծոյ մերոյ ցքահանայն Մարմոթի Ուրեանց, եւ որ ընդ նմա էին^[135]:	8:63 KJV [62] And when we had been there three days, the gold and silver that was weighed was delivered in the house of our Lord on the fourth day unto Marmoth the priest the son of Iri:

8:64 Եղիազար Փենեէսեանց, եւ Յովսաբդոս Յեսովեան, եւ Մեթոր Սաբանեան. եւ ա՛յլ ղեւտացիք` ցորս տուաք կշռով եւ համարով:	8:64 KJV [63] And with him was Eleazar the son of Phinees, and with them were Josabad the son of Jesu and Moeth the son of Sabban, Levites: all was delivered them by number and weight:

8:65 եւ գրեցաւ կշիռ համարոյն յաւուր յայնմիկ^[136]:	8:65 KJV [64] And all the weight of them was written up the same hour:

8:66 Եւ որք ելեալն էին ընդ իս ’ի գերութենէն Բաբելացւոց` մատուցին պատարագս տեառն Աստուծոյ Իսրայէլի. զուարակս երկոտասան վասն ամենայն Իսրայէլի, խոյս իննսուն:	8:66 KJV [65] Moreover they that were come out of the captivity offered sacrifice unto the Lord God of Israel, even twelve bullocks for all Israel, fourscore and sixteen rams:

8:67 գառինս եւթանասուն եւ երկու, նոխազս վասն փրկութեան երկոտասան. զայս ամենայն զո՛հս մատուցին առաջի տեառն Աստուծոյ Իսրայէլի:	8:67 KJV [66] Threescore and twelve lambs, goats for a peace offering, twelve; all of them a sacrifice to the Lord:

8:68 Եւ ետուն զգիր հրամանի թագաւորին ցգործակալս թագաւորին, եւ ցիշխանս եւ ցգաւառապետս Ասորւոց եւ Փիւնիկեցւոց, եւ մեծա՛ւ պատուով փառաւորեցաւ ազգն մեր` եւ տաճարն Տեառն:	8:68 KJV [67] And they delivered the king' s commandments unto the king' s stewards' and to the governors of Celosyria and Phenice; and they honoured the people and the temple of God:

8:69 Եւ ’ի կատարե՛լ այսր ամենայնի, եկին առաջի իմ նահապետք եւ իշխանք որդւոցն Իսրայէլի` եւ ասեն. Անխտի՛ր եղեւ ամենայն ազգ որդւոցն Իսրայէլի` եւ իշխանք նոցա, եւ քահանայքն եւ ղեւտացիք:	8:69 KJV [68] Now when these things were done, the rulers came unto me, and said:

8:70 Խառնակեցա՛ն ընդ հեթանոսս` եւ ընդ այլազգի՛ս, եւ ընդ պղծութիւնս ամենայն անհաւատիցն. ընդ Քանանացիսն, եւ ընդ Քետացիսն, եւ ընդ Փերեզացիսն, եւ ընդ Յեբուսացիսն, եւ ընդ Մովաբացիսն, եւ ընդ Ամովնացիսն, եւ ընդ Գերգեսացիսն, եւ ընդ Եդոմայեցին^[137]:	8:70 KJV [69] The nation of Israel, the princes, the priests and Levites, have not put away from them the strange people of the land, nor the pollutions of the Gentiles to wit, of the Canaanites, Hittites, Pheresites, Jebusites, and the Moabites, Egyptians, and Edomites:

8:71 վասն զի ամուսնացան ընդ դստերս նոցա. ինքեա՛նք եւ որդիք իւրեանց. եւ խառնեցաւ սերմն սրբութեան իւրեանց ընդ այլազգի՛ս հեթանոսաց երկրին. եւ ընկալան իշխանք եւ մեծամեծք իւրաքանչիւր զանօրէնութիւնս զայս յանձինս իւրեանց. քանզի նոքա եղեն առաջնորդք չա՛ր խառնակութեանս այսոցիկ^[138]:	8:71 KJV [70] For both they and their sons have married with their daughters, and the holy seed is mixed with the strange people of the land; and from the beginning of this matter the rulers and the great men have been partakers of this iniquity:

8:72 Եւ եղեւ յորժամ լուա՛յ ես զբանս զայսոսիկ, պատառեցի՛ զհանդերձս իմ. եւ ո՛ղբս առեալ փետէի զվարսս գլխոյ իմոյ, եւ զմօրուաց իմոց, եւ նստայ ’ի սո՛ւգ մեծ տրտմեալ:	8:72 KJV [71] And as soon as I had heard these things, I rent my clothes, and the holy garment, and pulled off the hair from off my head and beard, and sat me down sad and very heavy:

8:73 Եւ ժողովեցան առ իս ամենեքեան իբրեւ լուան զողբսն իմ, որ էր վասն տեառն Աստուծոյ Իսրայէլի. եւ տեսեալ զիս զոր ինչ արարի ’ի վերայ անօրէնութեան նոցա. քանզի նստայ այնպէս տրտմեալ մինչեւ յերեկս, ’ի հասանել ժամու զոհից երեկորին:	8:73 KJV [72] So all they that were then moved at the word of the Lord God of Israel assembled unto me, whilst I mourned for the iniquity: but I sat still full of heaviness until the evening sacrifice:

8:74 եւ յարուցեալ ’ի սգոյն այնպէս պատառեալ էին հանդերձք իմ, եւ հանդերձ ողբովք կորացեալ էի: Եւ համբարձեալ զձեռս իմ առ տէր Աստուած աղաղակեցի՛:	8:74 KJV [73] Then rising up from the fast with my clothes and the holy garment rent, and bowing my knees, and stretching forth my hands unto the Lord:

8:75 եւ ասեմ. Տէր` ամաչե՛մք եւ դողա՛մք առաջի երեսաց քոց:	8:75 KJV [74] I said, O Lord, I am confounded and ashamed before thy face:

8:76 քանզի մեղք մեր բազմացան առաւե՛լ քան զգլուխս մեր, եւ անօրէնութիւնք մեր բարձրացան առաւե՛լ ’ի վերոյ քան զերկինս:	8:76 KJV [75] For our sins are multiplied above our heads, and our ignorances have reached up unto heaven:

8:77 յամաց եւ ’ի ժամանակաց հարցն մերոց, եւ ե՛մք մեք ’ի մեղս մեծամեծս մինչեւ ցայսօր:	8:77 KJV [76] For ever since the time of our fathers we have been and are in great sin, even unto this day:

8:78 Եւ վասն մեղաց մերոց` եւ յանցանաց հարցն մերոց մատնեցաք մեք ’ի գերութիւն հանդերձ եղբարբք մերովք, եւ թագաւորօքն մերովք, եւ քահանայապետօքն մերովք. եւ ամենայն թագաւորք երկրի արկեալ զմեզ ’ի սո՛ւր սուսերի` գերեցին զմեզ, եւ աւերեցին զտեղիս մեր, եւ եղեալք մեք ամօթ` մինչեւ ցայսօր ժամանակի^[139]:	8:78 KJV [77] And for our sins and our fathers' we with our brethren and our kings and our priests were given up unto the kings of the earth, to the sword, and to captivity, and for a prey with shame, unto this day:

8:79 Եւ այժմ որչափ եղեւ ’ի վերայ մեր ողորմութիւն քո Տէր, ’ի թողուլ արմատ եւ զաւակ, եւ անուն ’ի տեղւոջս յայսմ ’ի սրբութեան քում:	8:79 KJV [78] And now in some measure hath mercy been shewed unto us from thee, O Lord, that there should be left us a root and a name in the place of thy sanctuary:

8:80 եւ յայտնեցեր զլոյս ’ի տաճարի՛ տեառն Աստուծոյ մերոյ. եւ ետո՛ւր մեզ կերակուր ’ի ժամանակս ծառայութեան մերոյ:	8:80 KJV [79] And to discover unto us a light in the house of the Lord our God, and to give us food in the time of our servitude:

8:81 եւ ’ի գերութեանն ո՛չ թողեր զմեզ ’ի ձեռաց` այլ եղեր մեզ Տէր օգնական. եւ ետուր մեզ գտանել շնո՛րհս առաջի թագաւորին Պարսից. եւ պատուեաց զմեզ, եւ դարմանեաց ամենայն կազմածով^[140]:	8:81 KJV [80] Yea, when we were in bondage, we were not forsaken of our Lord; but he made us gracious before the kings of Persia, so that they gave us food:

8:82 եւ փառաւորեաց զտաճարն տեառն Աստուծոյ մերոյ. եւ կանգնեաց եւ շինեաց զանապատն Սիոն. եւ հաստատեաց զմեզ ’ի Հրէաստանի եւ յԵրուսաղէմ:	8:82 KJV [81] Yea, and honoured the temple of our Lord, and raised up the desolate Sion, that they have given us a sure abiding in Jewry and Jerusalem:

8:83 Եւ այժմ զի՞նչ տացուք պատասխանի առաջի քո Տէր վասն այսր ամենայնի. քանզի անցաք զօրինօք եւ զհրամանօք քովք Տէր, զոր ետուր ’ի ձեռն ծառայիցն քոց մարգարէից:	8:83 KJV [82] And now, O Lord, what shall we say, having these things? for we have transgressed thy commandments, which thou gavest by the hand of thy servants the prophets, saying:

8:84 ասելով ա՛յսպէս. Եթէ երկիրն զոր մտցես դու ժառանգել զնա, է՛ երկիր պղծեալ ’ի պղծութեանցն ազգաց երկրին այնորիկ, եւ աղտեղութիւնքն իւրեանց լցին զնա^[141]:	8:84 KJV [83] That the land, which ye enter into to possess as an heritage, is a land polluted with the pollutions of the strangers of the land, and they have filled it with their uncleanness:

8:85 եւ արդ` մի՛ առնուցուս դու ’ի դստերաց նոցա որդւոց քոց կանայս, եւ զդստերսն ձեր մի՛ տայցէք որդւոց նոցա^[142]:	8:85 KJV [84] Therefore now shall ye not join your daughters unto their sons, neither shall ye take their daughters unto your sons:

8:86 եւ մի՛ խնդրեսցես առնել խաղաղութիւն ընդ նոսա զամենայն ժամանակս. եւ եղիջիր դու զօրաւո՛ր ուտել զբարութիւնս երկրին. եւ ժառանգեսցեն որդիք քո զերկիրն զայն յաւիտեանս ժամանակաց:	8:86 KJV [85] Moreover ye shall never seek to have peace with them, that ye may be strong, and eat the good things of the land, and that ye may leave the inheritance of the land unto your children for evermore:

8:87 Եւ որ ինչ գա՛մ մի անցք անցին ընդ մեզ վասն գործոց մերոց, եւ վասն չարութեան մեղաց մերոց^[143]:	8:87 KJV [86] And all that is befallen is done unto us for our wicked works and great sins; for thou, O Lord, didst make our sins light:

8:88 այլ դու Տէր բազմագութ թողե՛ր զմեղս մեր, եւ ետուր մեզ այսպիսի զաւակ եւ արմատ. մեք դարձեալ խոտորեցաք անցանել զօրինօք քովք, եւ խառնակեցաք ընդ աղտեղութիւնս հեթանոսաց երկրիս^[144]:	8:88 KJV [87] And didst give unto us such a root: but we have turned back again to transgress thy law, and to mingle ourselves with the uncleanness of the nations of the land:

8:89 եւ ո՛չ բարկացար մեզ ’ի կորուսանել զմեզ, մինչեւ ցայն վայր եթէ ո՛չ մնասցէ արմատ, եւ զաւակ, եւ անուն մեր:	8:89 KJV [88] Mightest not thou be angry with us to destroy us, till thou hadst left us neither root, seed, nor name:

8:90 Տէր Աստուած Իսրայէլի, դո՛ւ արդար եւ ճշմարի՛տ ես. ո՛չ սպառեցեր զզաւակ մեր, այլ մնացաք զաւակ եւ արմատ մինչեւ ցայսօր:	8:90 KJV [89] O Lord of Israel, thou art true: for we are left a root this day:

8:91 Եւ արդ` ա՛ւասիկ եմք այսօր առաջի քո յանօրէնութիւնս մեր, եւ ո՛չ եւս կարեմք կա՛լ առաջի երեսաց քոց. զի բազմացան անօրէնութիւնք եւ չարիք մեր` առաւե՛լ քան զգլուխս մեր:	8:91 KJV [90] Behold, now are we before thee in our iniquities, for we cannot stand any longer by reason of these things before thee:

8:92 Եւ յորժամ եկաց յաղօթս Եզր` հանդերձ խոստովանութեամբքս այսոքիւք, եւ ողբովք մեծամեծօք. անկեա՛լ էր ’ի վերայ երեսաց երկրի առաջի տաճարին Տեառն. ժողովեցան առ նա ամենայն որ էին յԵրուսաղէմ, ժողովուրդք բազումք` արք եւ կանայք, երիտասարդք եւ կուսանք. քանզի ո՛ղբք մեծամեծք էին ’ի բազմութեանն^[145]:	8:92 KJV [91] And as Esdras in his prayer made his confession, weeping, and lying flat upon the ground before the temple, there gathered unto him from Jerusalem a very great multitude of men and women and children: for there was great weeping among the multitude:

8:93 Եւ կարդա՛ց Յեքոնիա Իեղ’ու յորդւոցն Իսրայէլի, եւ ասէ ցԵզր. Մեք մեղաք առ տէր Աստուած, եւ առաք կանայս յայլազգեաց երկրիս այսորիկ:	8:93 KJV [92] Then Jechonias the son of Jeelus, one of the sons of Israel, called out, and said, O Esdras, we have sinned against the Lord God, we have married strange women of the nations of the land, and now is all Israel aloft:

8:94 եւ այժմ են այսօր անօրէնութիւնք ’ի միջի մերում. եկա՛յք ամենեքեան` դիցուք երդմունս առաջի Տեառն, եւ հանցուք ’ի բա՛ց զկանայս մեր զոր առաք յայլազգեաց, հանդերձ որդւովք իւրեանց:	8:94 KJV [93] Let us make an oath to the Lord, that we will put away all our wives, which we have taken of the heathen, with their children:

8:95 որպէս եւ հրամայէ յօրէնս տեառն Աստուծոյ մերոյ: Արի՛ վաղվաղակի` եւ կատարեա՛:	8:95 KJV [94] Like as thou hast decreed, and as many as do obey the law of the Lord:

8:96 զի առ քեզ են ամենայն իրք մեր, եւ մեք ընդ քեզ. զինչ եւ հրամայեսցես` արասցո՛ւք:	8:96 KJV [95] Arise and put in execution: for to thee doth this matter appertain, and we will be with thee: do valiantly:

8:97 Եւ յարուցեալ Եզր` երդմնեցոյց զիշխանս ցեղից քահանայիցն եւ ղեւտացւոց. եւ զամենայն Իսրայէլի առնե՛լ ըստ այսմ օրինակի. եւ երդուան^[146]:	8:97 KJV [96] So Esdras arose, and took an oath of the chief of the priests and Levites of all Israel to do after these things; and so they sware:
