12:1 Եւ ժողովեցան որդիքն Եփրեմի եւ եկին [209]ի Սեփենա, եւ ասեն ցՅեփթայէ. Զի՞ է զի ելեր պատերազմել ընդ որդիսն Ամոնայ, եւ զմեզ ոչ կոչեցեր երթալ ընդ քեզ. արդ այրեսցուք հրով զտուն քո ի վերայ քո:

12:1 And the men of Ephraim gathered themselves together, and went northward, and said unto Jephthah, Wherefore passedst thou over to fight against the children of Ammon, and didst not call us to go with thee? we will burn thine house upon thee with fire:
|
12:2 Եւ ասէ ցնոսա Յեփթայէ. [210]Այր զրկեալ էի ես եւ ժողովուրդ իմ, եւ որդիք Ամոնայ տառապեցուցանէին զիս յոյժ``. եւ բողոք արկի առ ձեզ, եւ ոչ փրկեցէք զիս ի ձեռաց նոցա:

12:2 And Jephthah said unto them, I and my people were at great strife with the children of Ammon; and when I called you, ye delivered me not out of their hands:
|
12:3 Եւ տեսի զի ոչ ոք էր որ փրկէր, եւ եդի զանձն իմ ի ձեռին իմում, եւ անցի առ որդիսն Ամոնայ, եւ մատնեաց զնոսա Տէր ի ձեռս իմ. եւ արդ ընդէ՞ր ելէք առ իս յաւուր յայսմիկ մարտնչել ընդ իս:

12:3 And when I saw that ye delivered [me] not, I put my life in my hands, and passed over against the children of Ammon, and the LORD delivered them into my hand: wherefore then are ye come up unto me this day, to fight against me:
|
12:4 Եւ ժողովեաց Յեփթայէ զամենայն արս Գաղաադու եւ տայր պատերազմ ընդ Եփրեմի. եւ հարին արք Գաղաադու զԵփրեմ. [211]զի ասացին ապրեալքն Եփրեմի, թէ` Դուք Գաղաադացիք ի մէջ Եփրեմի եւ ի մէջ Մանասէի էք:

12:4 Then Jephthah gathered together all the men of Gilead, and fought with Ephraim: and the men of Gilead smote Ephraim, because they said, Ye Gileadites [are] fugitives of Ephraim among the Ephraimites, [and] among the Manassites:
|
12:5 Եւ կալաւ Գաղաադ զկիրճս Յորդանանու զԵփրեմի. եւ եղեւ իբրեւ ասացին ապրեալքն Եփրեմայ, թէ` Թող [212]անցցուք, ասեն ցնոսա արք Գաղաադու. Միթէ եւ դուք յԵփրեմէ՞ իցէք: Եւ ասեն. չեմք ի նոցանէ:

12:5 And the Gileadites took the passages of Jordan before the Ephraimites: and it was [so], that when those Ephraimites which were escaped said, Let me go over; that the men of Gilead said unto him, [Art] thou an Ephraimite? If he said, Nay:
|
12:6 Եւ ասեն ցնոսա. Տուք մեզ նշան ինչ, եւ ասացէք. Հասկ հասկ: Եւ ոչ յաջողեցան խօսել այնպէս. եւ կալան եւ կոտորեցին զնոսա`` յանցսն Յորդանանու. եւ անկան ի ժամանակին յայնմիկ յԵփրեմէ քառասուն եւ երկու հազարք:

12:6 Then said they unto him, Say now Shibboleth: and he said Sibboleth: for he could not frame to pronounce [it] right. Then they took him, and slew him at the passages of Jordan: and there fell at that time of the Ephraimites forty and two thousand:

12:7 Եւ դատեաց Յեփթայէ զԻսրայէլ ամս վեց, եւ մեռաւ Յեփթայէ Գաղաադացի, եւ թաղեցաւ ի քաղաքի իւրում ի Գաղաադ:
|
12:7 And Jephthah judged Israel six years. Then died Jephthah the Gileadite, and was buried in [one of] the cities of Gilead:
|
12:8 Եւ դատեաց յետ նորա զԻսրայէլ [213]Եսեբոն ի Բեթղեհեմէ:
|
12:8 And after him Ibzan of Beth- lehem judged Israel:
|
12:9 Եւ եղեն նորա ուստերք երեսուն, եւ դստերք երեսուն տուեալ արտաքս. եւ երեսուն կին ած ուստերաց իւրոց արտաքուստ. եւ դատեաց զԻսրայէլ ամս եւթն:
|
12:9 And he had thirty sons, and thirty daughters, [whom] he sent abroad, and took in thirty daughters from abroad for his sons. And he judged Israel seven years:
|
12:10 Եւ մեռաւ [214]Եսեբոն եւ թաղեցաւ ի Բեթղեհէմ:
|
12:10 Then died Ibzan, and was buried at Beth- lehem:
|
12:11 Եւ դատեաց յետ նորա զԻսրայէլ Ելոն Զաբուղոնացի ամս տասն:
|
12:11 And after him Elon, a Zebulonite, judged Israel; and he judged Israel ten years:
|
12:12 Եւ մեռաւ Ելոն Զաբուղոնացի եւ թաղեցաւ յԵղիմ յերկրին Զաբուղոնի:
|
12:12 And Elon the Zebulonite died, and was buried in Aijalon in the country of Zebulun:
|
12:13 Եւ դատեաց յետ նորա զԻսրայէլ Աբդոն որդի Ելլեքայ Փարաթոնացի:
|
12:13 And after him Abdon the son of Hillel, a Pirathonite, judged Israel:
|
12:14 Եւ եղեն նորա որդիք քառասուն, եւ երեսուն որդիք որդւոց նորա, որ հեծանէին յեւթանասուն յաւանակս. եւ դատեաց զԻսրայէլ ամս ութ:

12:14 And he had forty sons and thirty nephews, that rode on threescore and ten ass colts: and he judged Israel eight years:
|
12:15 Եւ մեռաւ Աբդոն որդի Ելլեքայ Փարաթոնացի, եւ թաղեցաւ [215]յԵփրաթոն, յերկրի Եփրեմայ ի լերինն Ամաղեկայ:
|
12:15 And Abdon the son of Hillel the Pirathonite died, and was buried in Pirathon in the land of Ephraim, in the mount of the Amalekites:
