11:1 Եւ ասէ ցնա Հողոփեռնէս. Համարձակեա՛ց կին դու, եւ մի՛ երկնչիր. զի ես ո՛չ չարչարեմ զմարդ որ կամի ծառայել Նաբուքոդոնոսորայ արքայի որ տիրէ ամենայն երկրիս:

11:1 Then said Holofernes unto her, Woman, be of good comfort, fear not in thine heart: for I never hurt any that was willing to serve Nabuchodonosor, the king of all the earth:
|
11:2 Եւ արդ` ժողովուրդ քո այդ` որ բնակեալդ է ՛ի լեռնակողմանդ, եթէ ո՛չ էր ապստամբեալ դոցա յինէն, ո՛չ էր իմ առեալ զնիզակ իմ ՛ի վերայ դոցա. այլ դոքա ինքեա՛նք արարին անձանց իւրեանց զայս:

11:2 Now therefore, if thy people that dwelleth in the mountains had not set light by me, I would not have lifted up my spear against them: but they have done these things to themselves:
|
11:3 Արդ` ասա՛ դու ինձ, վասն որո՞յ ես դու փախուցեալ ՛ի նոցանէն, եւ եկեալ ես առ մեզ. քաջալերեա՛ց զի ՛ի փրկութիւն եկեալ ես, զի կենդանի՛ ես ՛ի գիշերիս յայսմիկ, եւ զամենայն աւուրս քո, եւ ո՛չ ոք է որ վնասէ՛ քեզ. այլ բարի՛ լիցի քեզ, որպէս եւ լինի ծառայից տեառն իմոյ Նաբուքոդոնոսորայ[96]:

11:3 But now tell me wherefore thou art fled from them, and art come unto us: for thou art come for safeguard; be of good comfort, thou shalt live this night, and hereafter:
|
11:4 Եւ ասէ ցնա Յուդիթ. Ընկա՛լ զբանս աղախնոյ քոյ, եւ խօսեսցի աղախին քո առաջի քո. եւ ո՛չ ինչ ստութիւն պատմեմ տեառն իմում ՛ի գիշերիս յայսմիկ: Եթէ զհետ եկեսցես եւ լուիցես բանից աղախնոյ քոյ, գործ կատարեալ գործէ ընդ քեզ Աստուած, եւ ո՛չ անկցի բա՛ն քո ընդունայն[97]:

11:4 For none shall hurt thee, but entreat thee well, as they do the servants of king Nabuchodonosor my lord.
KJV [5] Then Judith said unto him, Receive the words of thy servant, and suffer thine handmaid to speak in thy presence, and I will declare no lie to my lord this night.
KJV [6] And if thou wilt follow the words of thine handmaid, God will bring the thing perfectly to pass by thee; and my lord shall not fail of his purposes:

11:5 զի կենդանի՛ է Նաբուքոդոնոսոր արքայ ամենայն երկրի, եւ կենդանի՛ է զօրութիւն նորա որ առաքեաց զքեզ յուղղութիւն ամենայն մարդոյ. զի ո՛չ եթէ մարդիկս միայն ծառայեն նմա ՛ի ձեռն քո, այլ եւ գազանք վայրի, եւ անասունք` եւ թռչունք երկնից քե՛ւ կեցցեն Նաբուքոդոնոսոր եւ ամենայն տուն նորա[98]:

11:5 KJV [7] As Nabuchodonosor king of all the earth liveth, and as his power liveth, who hath sent thee for the upholding of every living thing: for not only men shall serve him by thee, but also the beasts of the field, and the cattle, and the fowls of the air, shall live by thy power under Nabuchodonosor and all his house:

11:6 Վասն զի լուա՛ք զիմաստութիւն եւ զհանճար անձին քոյ որ եւ պատմեալ իսկ է յամենայն երկրի, զի դու միայն ես բարերար յամենայն ՛ի թագաւորութեան նորա, եւ հզօ՛ր ես բանիւք, եւ սքանչելի՛ ես ՛ի մէջ պատերազմօղ զօրացս:

11:6 KJV [8] For we have heard of thy wisdom and thy policies, and it is reported in all the earth, that thou only art excellent in all the kingdom, and mighty in knowledge, and wonderful in feats of war:
|
11:7 Արդ զբանսն զոր խօսեցաւ Աքիովր ՛ի խորհրդեան սենեկի քում, լուա՛ք եւ մեք. եւ զի խնայեցին ՛ի նա արք Բետիուղուայ` եւ նա պատմեաց զամենայն որպէս եւ խօսեցաւ ընդ քեզ: Եւ արդ` այժմ տէր` մի՛ անցաներ զբանիւք նորա, այլ հաստատեա՛ զնոսա ՛ի սրտի քում. քանզի ճշմարիտ են:

11:7 KJV [9] Now as concerning the matter, which Achior did speak in thy council, we have heard his words; for the men of Bethulia saved him, and he declared unto them all that he had spoken unto thee.
KJV [10] Therefore, O lord and governor, respect not his word; but lay it up in thine heart, for it is true:

11:8 Զի ո՛չ ոք կարէ չարչարել զազգս մեր, եւ ո՛չ սուր թշնամւոյ վնասէ մեզ. բայց յորժամ մեղանչիցեն Աստուծոյ իւրեանց[99]:

11:8 for our nation shall not be punished, neither can sword prevail against them, except they sin against their God:
|
11:9 Եւ արդ մի՛ վնասիցիս տէր իմ, դու եւ զօրք քո. քանզի հասեալ իսկ է ժամանակ մահու նոցա` վասն մեղացն զոր մեղան Աստուծոյն իւրեանց. քանզի արարին նոքա մեղս մե՛ծ անօրէնութեան:

11:9 KJV [11] And now, that my lord be not defeated and frustrate of his purpose, even death is now fallen upon them, and their sin hath overtaken them, wherewith they will provoke their God to anger whensoever they shall do that which is not fit to be done:
|
11:10 Զի պակասեցին նոցա ջուրք եւ կերակուր:
|
11:10 KJV [12] For their victuals fail them, and all their water is scant:
|
11:11 խորհեցան նոքա եւ արկին զձեռս իւրեանց յանասունս զոր ո՛չ էր հրամայեալ ուտել` Աստուծոյն իւրեանց:
|
11:11 and they have determined to lay hands upon their cattle, and purposed to consume all those things, that God hath forbidden them to eat by his laws:
|
11:12 եւ զպտուղ ցորենոյ` եւ զտասանորդս գինւոյ եւ իւղոյ որ էր սրբեալ քահանայիցն որ պաշտօնեայքն են յԵրուսաղէմ, առաջի Աստուծոյն մերոյ. սկսան ուտել զայն` զոր ո՛չ էր օրէն ուտել նոցա` բայց միայն քահանայիցն: Եւ առաքեցին յԵրուսաղէմ, զի որք անդն իցեն` արասցեն ա՛յնպէս. վասն որոյ լինէր նոցա թողութիւն յԱստուծոյ ՛ի ձեռն քահանայիցն: Եւ արդ յորժամ արարին զայս մեղս, եւ մատնին ՛ի սատակումն[100]:

11:12 KJV [13] And are resolved to spend the firstfruits of the the tenths of wine and oil, which they had sanctified, and reserved for the priests that serve in Jerusalem before the face of our God; the which things it is not lawful for any of the people so much as to touch with their hands.
KJV [14] For they have sent some to Jerusalem, because they also that dwell there have done the like, to bring them a licence from the senate.
KJV [15] Now when they shall bring them word, they will forthwith do it, and they shall be given to thee to be destroyed the same day:

11:13 Արդ` ե՛ս աղախին քո` յորժամ գիտացի զայս` փախեայ ՛ի նոցանէն: Եւ առաքեաց զիս առնել ընդ քեզ գո՛րծ մեծ` զորմէ զարմասցի ամենայն երկիրս որ միանգամ լուիցեն զայն[101]:

11:13 KJV [16] Wherefore I thine handmaid, knowing all this, am fled from their presence; and God hath sent me to work things with thee, whereat all the earth shall be astonished, and whosoever shall hear it:

11:14 Զի աղախին քո աստուածապա՛շտ է, եւ աղաչեմ զցայգ եւ զցերեկ զՏէր Աստուած երկնից: Եւ արդ մնացի՛ց ես առ քեզ տէր իմ. եւ ելցէ աղախին քո ՛ի գիշերիս յայսմիկ ՛ի ծործորն հովտին, եւ կացից յաղօթս առ Տէր Աստուած իմ. եւ պատմէ՛ ինձ յորժամ մեղանա՛ն նմա[102]:

11:14 KJV [17] For thy servant is religious, and serveth the God of heaven day and night: now therefore, my lord, I will remain with thee, and thy servant will go out by night into the valley, and I will pray unto God, and he will tell me when they have committed their sins:

11:17 եւ ես գա՛մ եւ պատմեմ քեզ. եւ դու ելցես ամենայն զօրօք քովք հանդերձ, եւ ո՛չ իցէ ՛ի նոցանէն որ ապրիցէ ՛ի քէն. եւ տարա՛յց զքեզ ընդ մէջ Հրէաստանի, մինչեւ տարայց զքեզ յԵրուսաղէմ, եւ արկցես զաթոռ քո ՛ի միջի նորա, եւ ժողովեսցես զնոսա որպէս զհօտ` որոց ո՛չ իցէ հովիւ. եւ ո՛չ հաջեսցէ շո՛ւն մի լեզուաւ իւրով ընդդէ՛մ քո: Եւ ինձ պատմեցա՛ւ այս լինել յԱստուծոյ, եւ եկի՛ ցուցանել քեզ[103]:

11:17 KJV [18] And I will come and shew it unto thee: then thou shalt go forth with all thine army, and there shall be none of them that shall resist thee.
KJV [19] And I will lead thee through the midst of Judea, until thou come before Jerusalem; and I will set thy throne in the midst thereof; and thou shalt drive them as sheep that have no shepherd, and a dog shall not so much as open his mouth at thee: for these things were told me according to my foreknowledge, and they were declared unto me, and I am sent to tell thee:

11:18 Եւ հաճո՛յ թուեցան բանք նորա առաջի Հողոփեռնեայ` եւ առաջի ամենայն ծառայից նորա, եւ զարմանային ընդ իմաստութիւն նորա, եւ ասեն[104]:

11:18 KJV [20] Then her words pleased Holofernes and all his servants; and they marvelled at her wisdom, and said:
|
11:19 Ո՛չ գտանի կի՛ն գեղեցիկ համեմա՛տ սմա, ՛ի ծագաց երկրի մինչեւ ՛ի ծագս` իմաստութեամբ բանիւք եւ գեղեցկութեամբ երեսաց իւրոց:
|
11:19 KJV [21] There is not such a woman from one end of the earth to the other, both for beauty of face, and wisdom of words:
|
11:20 Եւ ասէ ցնա Հողոփեռնէս. Բարի՛ արար Աստուած զի առաքեա՛ց զքեզ առաջնորդել ժողովրդեանս. զի լիցի հզօրացեալ տէրութիւնս մեր` եւ որք ապստամբեցին ՛ի մէնջ կորիցե՛ն: Եւ արդ տեսանե՛մ զքեզ կայտա՛ռ տեսլեամբ, եւ բարի՛ զամենայն բանս քո:

11:20 KJV [22] Likewise Holofernes said unto her. God hath done well to send thee before the people, that strength might be in our hands and destruction upon them that lightly regard my lord.
KJV [23] And now thou art both beautiful in thy countenance, and witty in thy words:
|
11:21 զի թէ արասցէ որպէս խօսեցար` Աստուածն քո եղիցի՛ նա եւ ի՛մ Աստուած. եւ դու ՛ի տան Նաբուքոդոնոսորայ նստցիս, եւ եղիցիս անուանի քան զամենայն երկիր[105]:

11:21 surely if thou do as thou hast spoken thy God shall be my God, and thou shalt dwell in the house of king Nabuchodonosor, and shalt be renowned through the whole earth:
