3:1 Եւ առաքեցին առ նա` խօսել ընդ նմա բանիւք խաղաղութեան, եւ ասեն:

3:1 So they sent ambassadors unto him to treat of peace, saying:
|
3:2 Ահաւասիկ մեք ծառա՛յք Նաբուքոդոնոսորայ եմք, եւ կացեալ եմք առաջի քո, արա՛ ընդ մեզ` որպէս եւ հաճոյ թուի քեզ[17]:

3:2 Behold, we the servants of Nabuchodonosor the great king lie before thee; use us as shall be good in thy sight:
|
3:3 Զի ահա տունք մեր, եւ ամենայն դաշտք ցորենոյ, եւ հօտք եւ անդեայք` եւ ամենայն գոմք խաշանց մերոց` առաջի աչաց քոց, արա՛ որպէս եւ բարի՛ թուի քեզ. զի ահա եւ քաղաքք մեր` եւ բնակիչք նոցա ծառա՛յք քո եմք, ե՛կ մո՛ւտ ՛ի սոսա, որպէս եւ բարի թուի՛ քեզ[18]:

3:3 Behold, our houses, and all our places, and all our fields of wheat, and flocks, and herds, and all the lodges of our tents lie before thy face; use them as it pleaseth thee.
KJV [4] Behold, even our cities and the inhabitants thereof are thy servants; come and deal with them as seemeth good unto thee:

3:6 Եւ եկին արք հրեշտակք առ Հողափեռնէս, եւ պատմեցին նմա ըստ բանիցս ըստ այսոցիկ:

3:6 KJV [5] So the men came to Holofernes, and declared unto him after this manner:

3:7 եւ էջ ՛ի ծովեզրն ի՛նքն եւ զօրք իւր, եւ պահապա՛նս կացուցանէր ՛ի քաղաքս բարձունս: Եւ ա՛ռ նա ՛ի քաղաքաց անտի ա՛րս ընտիրս պատերազմակիցս իւր:

3:7 KJV [6] Then came he down toward the sea coast, both he and his army, and set garrisons in the high cities, and took out of them chosen men for aid:

3:10 երգովք եւ պսակօք` եւ ծնծղայիւք եւ թմբկօք:

3:11 Եւ փորեաց նա զսահմանս նոցա. եւ ՛ի բա՛ց ընկէց զամենայն զանտառ նոցա[19]:

3:11 KJV [8] Yet he did cast down their frontiers, and cut down their groves:
|
3:12 Եւ էր հրամա՛ն տուեալ նմա սատակե՛լ զաստուածս երկրին:

3:12 for he had decreed to destroy all the gods of the land:
|
3:13 զի միայն Նաբուքոդոնոսորա՛յ պաշտօն տարցին ամենայն ազգք եւ ազինք. կարդասցեն զնա Աստուած:

3:13 that all nations should worship Nabuchodonosor only, and that all tongues and tribes should call upon him as god:
|
3:14 Եւ եկն նա դէմ յանդիման Եզրայելոմեայ, որ մե՛րձ էր առ բնակիչսն, որ է դէմ յանդիման սարոյն մեծի՛ Հրէաստանի[20]:

3:14 KJV [9] Also he came over against Esdraelon near unto Judea, over against the great strait of Judea:

3:15 Եւ բանակեցա՛ւ նա ՛ի մէջ Գայեայ եւ Բիշանու. եւ եղեւ անդ` ամիս մի ժողովե՛լ ռոճիկս եւ դարմանս զօրաց իւրոց[21]:

3:15 KJV [10] And he pitched between Geba and Scythopolis, and there he tarried a whole month, that he might gather together all the carriages of his army:
