5:1 Եւ պատմեցին Հողոփեռնեայ զօրագլխի զօրացն Ասուր, եթէ որդիքն Իսրայէլի պատրաստեցան ՛ի պատերազմ, եւ զանցս լեռնային կողմանցն փակեցին, եւ պարսպեցին զամենայն գլուխս լերանց բարձանց, եւ թաքուցին ՛ի դաշտս որոգայթս[29]:

5:1 Then was it declared to Holofernes, the chief captain of the army of Assur, that the children of Israel had prepared for war, and had shut up the passages of the hill country, and had fortified all the tops of the high hills and had laid impediments in the champaign countries:
|
5:2 Եւ բարկացաւ յոյժ Հողոփեռնէս բարկութեամբ մեծաւ. եւ կոչեաց նա զամենայն իշխանսն Մովաբայ, եւ զզօրագլուխսն Ամովնայ, եւ զամենայն նախարարս ծովեզերեայս:

5:2 Wherewith he was very angry, and called all the princes of Moab, and the captains of Ammon, and all the governors of the sea coast:
|
5:3 եւ ասէ ցնոսա. Պատմեցէ՛ք դուք ինձ որդիք Քանանու, ո՞վ են ժողովուրդս այս որ նստին ՛ի լեռնակողմանս. եւ զի՞նչ քաղաքք են յորում բնակեալ են սոքա` եւ կամ բազմութիւն զօրա՞ց նոցա. եւ ի՞ւ է ոյժ նոցա եւ կամ զօրութիւն. կամ ո՛վ է թագաւոր նոցա եւ առաջնորդ զօրաց նոցա[30]:

5:3 And he said unto them, Tell me now, ye sons of Chanaan, who this people is, that dwelleth in the hill country, and what are the cities that they inhabit, and what is the multitude of their army, and wherein is their power and strength, and what king is set over them, or captain of their army:
|
5:4 Եւ ընդէ՞ր թիւրեցին զմիտս իւրեանց, զի մի՛ եկեսցեն ընդ առա՛ջ իմ. այլ հպարտացան քան զամենայն բնակիչս արեւմտեայցս:
|
5:4 And why have they determined not to come and meet me, more than all the inhabitants of the west:
|
5:5 Եւ ասէ ցնա Աքիովր առաջնորդ ամենայն որդւոցն Ամոնայ. Լուիցէ տէր բանից ծառայի քոյ, եւ պատմեցից քեզ զճշմարիտն` վասն ժողովրդեանդ որ բնակեալ են ՛ի լեռնակողմանդ յայդմ որ մերձ առ քե՛զս է. եւ ո՛չ ինչ ելանէ ստութիւն ՛ի բերանոյ ծառայի քոյ[31]:

5:5 Then said Achior, the captain of all the sons of Ammon, Let my lord now hear a word from the mouth of thy servant, and I will declare unto thee the truth concerning this people, which dwelleth near thee, and inhabiteth the hill countries: and there shall no lie come out of the mouth of thy servant:
|
5:6 Ժողովուրդս այս են յազգէ՛ Քաղդեացւոց:
|
5:6 This people are descended of the Chaldeans:
|
5:7 եւ պանդխտեցան զառաջինն ՛ի Միջագետս. զի ո՛չ կամեցան պաշտել զդիս հարց իւրեանց յերկրին Քաղդեացւոց:
|
5:7 And they sojourned heretofore in Mesopotamia, because they would not follow the gods of their fathers, which were in the land of Chaldea:
|
5:8 եւ ելին նոքա ՛ի հայրենի երկրէն իւրեանց. եւ երկի՛ր պագին Աստուծոյ երկնաւորի զոր ճշմարտեալ ծանեան: Եւ եկեալ գնացին նոքա ՛ի Միջագետս` եւ պանդխտեցան անդ աւուրս բազումս. եւ ասէ ցնոսա Աստուածն նոցա` ելանե՛լ նոցա ՛ի պանդխտութենէն եւ գալ յերկիրս Քանանու. եւ բնակեցին անդ, եւ մեծացան ոսկւով եւ արծաթով` եւ անասնով բազմով[32]:

5:8 For they left the way of their ancestors, and worshipped the God of heaven, the God whom they knew: so they cast them out from the face of their gods, and they fled into Mesopotamia, and sojourned there many days.
KJV [9] Then their God commanded them to depart from the place where they sojourned, and to go into the land of Chanaan: where they dwelt, and were increased with gold and silver, and with very much cattle:

5:9 Եւ իջին նոքա յԵգիպտոս, քանզի եղեւ սով յերկրին Քանանացւոց, եւ պանդխտեցան անդ մինչեւ սնան, եւ եղեն անդ բազում յոյժ. եւ ո՛չ էր թիւ ազգի նոցա:

5:10 But when a famine covered all the land of Chanaan, they went down into Egypt, and sojourned there, while they were nourished, and became there a great multitude, so that one could not number their nation:
|
5:10 Եւ յարեաւ ՛ի վերայ նոցա արքայն Եգիպտացւոց չարչարե՛լ զնոսա ցաւովք, եւ աղիւսովք, եւ արկին զնոսա ՛ի ծառայութիւն:
|
5:11 Therefore the king of Egypt rose up against them, and dealt subtilly with them, and brought them low with labouring in brick, and made them slaves:
|
5:11 Եւ կարդացին նոքա առ Աստուած իւրեանց, եւ եհա՛ր նա զերկիրն Եգիպտացւոց հարուածովք անբժշկութեան. եւ հալածեցին հանին զնոսա Եգիպտացիքն յերեսաց իւրեանց:
|
5:12 Then they cried unto their God, and he smote all the land of Egypt with incurable plagues: so the Egyptians cast them out of their sight:
|
5:12 Եւ ցամաքեցո՛յց Աստուած զծովն Կարմիր առաջի նոցա:
|
5:13 And God dried the Red sea before them:
|
5:13 եւ ած զնոսա ՛ի ճանապարհն Սինայ, եւ ՛ի Կադէսբառնեայ. եւ հանին զամենայն բնակիչս անապատին[33]:
|
5:14 And brought them to mount Sina, and Cades- Barne, and cast forth all that dwelt in the wilderness:
|
5:14 եւ բնակեցուցին յերկրին Ամովրհացւոց. եւ զամենայն զԵսեբովնացիս սատակեցին զօրութեամբ իւրեանց: Եւ անցին նոքա ընդ Յորդանան, եւ ժառանգեցին զամենայն երկիրն[34]:

5:15 So they dwelt in the land of the Amorites, and they destroyed by their strength all them of Esebon, and passing over Jordan they possessed all the hill country:
|
5:20 եւ մերժեցին հանին յերեսաց իւրեանց զՔանանացին, եւ զՓերեզացին, եւ զՅեբուսացին, եւ զՍիւքեմ, եւ զամենայն Գերգեսացիս, եւ բնակեցին յերկրին աւուրս բազումս:
|
5:16 And they cast forth before them the Chanaanite, the Pherezite, the Jebusite, and the Sychemite, and all the Gergesites, and they dwelt in that country many days:
|
5:21 Եւ մինչ ո՛չ մեղանչէին առաջի Աստուծոյն իւրեանց` է՛ր ընդ նոսա ամենայն բարութիւն. զի Աստուած որ ատեայ զանիրաւութիւն` է՛ր ընդ նոսա:
|
5:17 And whilst they sinned not before their God, they prospered, because the God that hateth iniquity was with them:
|
5:22 Եւ յորժամ ՛ի բա՛ց մերժեցին յիւրեանց զճանապարհս ուխտին Աստուծոյ, սատակեցա՛ն ՛ի պատերազմունս բազումս յոյժ. եւ գերեցան յերկիր օտար որ ո՛չ իւրեանց էր. եւ տաճարն Աստուծոյ իւրեանց եղեւ ՛ի կործանումն. եւ քաղաքք նոցա մատնեցան ՛ի ձեռս թշնամեաց նոցա[35]:

5:18 But when they departed from the way which he appointed them, they were destroyed in many battles very sore, and were led captives into a land that was not their' s, and the temple of their God was cast to the ground, and their cities were taken by the enemies:
|
5:23 Եւ այժմ դարձա՛ն առ Տէր Աստուած իւրեանց` եւ ժողովեցան ՛ի գերութենէ իւրեանց ուր էին ցրուեալք, եւ կալան զքաղաքն զԵրուսաղէմ ուր էր սրբութիւնն. եւ բնակեցին ՛ի լեռնակողմանն, զի էր աւերակ:

5:19 But now are they returned to their God, and are come up from the places where they were scattered, and have possessed Jerusalem, where their sanctuary is, and are seated in the hill country; for it was desolate:
|
5:24 Եւ արդ այժմ տէր, եթէ անգիտութիւն ինչ լինի ՛ի ժողովրդեան նոցա, եւ մեղանչիցեն Աստուծոյ իւրեանց, ակնկալեալ սպասեսցուք այսմիկ, զի ա՛յս է նոցա գայթագղութիւն. եւ ապա գումարեսցուք ՛ի վերայ նոցա, եւ տացուք ՛ի վերայ նոցա պատերազմ:

5:20 Now therefore, my lord and governor, if there be any error against this people, and they sin against their God, let us consider that this shall be their ruin, and let us go up, and we shall overcome them:
|
5:25 Ապա թէ չիցէ՛ ինչ նոցա անիրաւութիւն առ Աստուածն իւրեանց` զա՛նց արասցուք առ նոքօք տէր. գուցէ պաշտպանիցէ նոցա Տէր Աստուածն իւրեանց, եւ լինիցիմք մեք յամօ՛թ նախատանաց ամենայն երկրի:

5:21 But if there be no iniquity in their nation, let my lord now pass by, lest their Lord defend them, and their God be for them, and we become a reproach before all the world:
|
5:26 Եւ եղեւ իբրեւ դադարեաց Աքիովր ՛ի խօսելոյ զբանս զայս, տրտնջեաց ամենայն բանակն որ շուրջ զխորանաւն[36]:
|
5:22 And when Achior had finished these sayings, all the people standing round about the tent murmured, and the chief men of Holofernes, and all that dwelt by the sea side, and in Moab, spake that he should kill him:
|
5:27 Եւ ասեն իշխանքն ցՀողոփեռն, եւ որ բնակիչքն էին ծովեզերեայց եւ Մովաբացւոց, զի պատուհասեսցէ զԱքիովր. Զի ո՛չինչ երկնչիմք մեք յորդւոցն Իսրայէլի. ժողովուրդ որ ո՛չ ունի կա՛ր ինչ զօրութեան պատերազմի[37]:
|
5:23 For, say they, we will not be afraid of the face of the children of Israel: for, lo, it is a people that have no strength nor power for a strong battle:
|
5:28 Արդ` ելցո՛ւք մեք, եւ լիցին նոքա կերակուր ամենայն զօրաց քոց տէր Հողոփեռն[38]:
|
5:24 Now therefore, lord Holofernes, we will go up, and they shall be a prey to be devoured of all thine army:
|
