31:1 Watching for riches consumeth the flesh:

31:2 եւ հոգք տրտմութեան մերժէ զննջել: Հիւանդութիւն ծա՛նր արթուն առնէ ՛ի քնոյ:

31:2 and the care thereof driveth away sleep. KJV [2] Watching care will not let a man slumber, as a sore disease breaketh sleep:

31:3 Ջանացաւ մեծն ժողովել ինչս, եւ ՛ի հանգստեան իւրում յագեցաւ փափկութեամբ:

31:3 The rich hath great labour in gathering riches together; and when he resteth, he is filled with his delicates:

31:4 Ջանացաւ աղքատն ՛ի նուազել կենաց իւրոց, եւ ՛ի հանգստեան իւրում կարօտեալ գտաւ:

31:4 The poor laboureth in his poor estate; and when he leaveth off, he is still needy:

31:5 Որ սիրէ զոսկի` ո՛չ արդարասցի, եւ որ երթայ զհետ անօրէնութեան` ապականեսցի:

31:5 He that loveth gold shall not be justified, and he that followeth corruption shall have enough thereof:

31:6 Բազումք ՛ի կորուստ մատնեցան վասն ոսկւոյ, եւ եղեւ կորուստ նոցա առաջի՛ նոցա:

31:6 Gold hath been the ruin of many, and their destruction was present. KJV [7] It is a stumblingblock unto them that sacrifice unto it, and every fool shall be taken therewith:

31:8 Երանի մեծատան որ գտանի անարատ, եւ զհետ ոսկւոյ ո՛չ մոլորեսցի:

31:8 Blessed is the rich that is found without blemish, and hath not gone after gold. KJV [9] Who is he? and we will call him blessed: for wonderful things hath he done among his people. 31:18 Խորհեա՛ դու բարի անձին քում, զնոյն կամեաց եւ ընկերին: Զի եթէ դու բարի կամիս քեզ` եւ այլոց չար, ժամանակ տացէ քեզ Տէր եւթնպատիկ չար, զի դու ընկերին բարի ո՛չ կամեցար: Ա՛ռն անմտի եւ հաց քուլեփի միտս մի՛ դներ, եւ խրատու իմաստութեան հաւանեա՛: Որ իմաստուն է եւ խաղաղարար, յամենայն ժամ ցանկայ տեսանել զնա: Մարդ որ յաղմուկ սովորէ` Սատանայի նմանէ, զի Սատանա՛յ բարի ո՛չ լինի` եւ ո՛չ մարդն այն խաղաղարար: Հա՛ն զնա ՛ի միջոյ` եւ խաղաղացիր ՛ի նմանէ, զի ա՛յլք որ չգիտէին զինքն` գիտասցեն, եւ զքեզ ո՛չ պարսաւեսցեն, եւ հալածեսցեն զնա քաղաքէ ՛ի քաղաք. մինչեւ վախճանի նա` ուր ո՛չ գիտէ: Ո՞րդեակ` ա՛ռն անմտի հանդիպեցայ ես` եւ շատ տագնապեցայ ՛ի նմանէ, զի էր ծառայ սիրուն եւ հաւատարիմ, եւ դառնութեամբ խօսէր բերան նորա. եւ զխօսս անձին իմոյ` եւ զընկերի արդար ամուսնոյ` պատմէր առաջի թշնամեաց յայպն եւ ՛ի կատականս: Իմաստուն բանիւք խրատեցի զնա, եւ ո՛չ լուաւ, հատուցի նմա գան` եւ հաւանեցաւ: Լաւ է առն մորոսի բիր գլխոյն, քան բարձս փետրալիցս, զի իմաստութեամբ ո՛չ խրատի. մի՛ յապաղեր տալ նմա զօգուտ նորա. զի թէ վաղ եւ անագան` այսու խրատեսցի նա[95]:

31:26 Լո՛ւր ինձ ո՛րդեակ` եւ մի՛ անարգեր զիս, եւ ՛ի վախճանի գտցես զբանս իմ:
Յաղագս արիական գործոց, եւ այլոց խրատուց:

31:26 My son, hear me, and despise me not, and at the last thou shalt find as I told thee:

31:27 Լե՛ր դու կայտառ ՛ի գործս քո, եւ հիւանդութիւն քեզ ո՛չ հասցէ:
|
31:27 in all thy works be quick, so shall there no sickness come unto thee:
|
31:28 Լե՛ր հացիւ առատ` եւ գովեսցեն զքեզ մարդիկ հաւատարիմ: Ամենայն մարդ` մարդ է, բայց դու ընտրեա՛ զպիտանին` որ ՛ի ժամանակի նեղութեան օգնեսցէ քեզ. եւ զհաց քո լիով տո՛ւր նմա, եւ լե՛ր կարօտելոց սեղան, եւ օրհնութիւն քո ՛ի նոցանէ հասցէ յամենայն տեղիս:

KJV [27] Wine is as good as life to a man, if it be drunk moderately: what life is then to a man that is without wine? for it was made to make men glad:

31:38 Դառնութիւն սրտի` գինի անչափ. ցնծութիւն եւ ուրախութիւն սրտի` գինի սակաւ:

31:38 Wine measurably drunk and in season bringeth gladness of the heart, and cheerfulness of the mind:
But wine drunken with excess maketh bitterness of the mind, with brawling and quarrelling. KJV [30] Drunkenness increaseth the rage of a fool till he offend: it diminisheth strength, and maketh wounds:
