3:1 Եւ ես տրտմեցա՛յ եւ լացի. եւ յարեա՛յ կացի յաղօթս զայրագին սրտիւ:

3:1 Then I being grieved did weep, and in my sorrow prayed, saying:
|
3:2 եւ ասեմ. Արդա՛ր ես դու Տէր` եւ ամենայն գործք քո, եւ ամենայն ճանապարհք քո ողորմութիւն եւ զդատաստանս` եւ զճշմարիտն եւ զարդարն դատես մինչեւ յաւիտեան:
|
3:2 O Lord, thou art just, and all thy works and all thy ways are mercy and truth, and thou judgest truly and justly for ever:
|
3:3 Նայեա՛ առ իս եւ յիշեա՛ զիս, եւ մի՛ հատուցաներ ինձ ըստ մեղս իմ, եւ ըստ չարիս իմ, եւ հարց իմոց որք մեղան առաջի քո:
|
3:3 Remember me, and look on me, punish me not for my sins and ignorances, and the sins of mg fathers, who have sinned before thee:
|
3:4 Զի անցի՛ն նոքա զպատուիրանօք քովք, ետուր զմեզ ՛ի յափշտակութիւն եւ ՛ի գերութիւն եւ ՛ի մահ, եւ յառակս նախատանաց ընդ ամենայն հեթանոսս ուր եւ ցրուեալքս եմք: Եւ արդ այժմ Տէր` բազո՛ւմ են իրաւունք ճշմարտութեան քոյ[20]:

3:4 For they obeyed not thy commandments: wherefore thou hast delivered us for a spoil, and unto captivity, and unto death, and for a proverb of reproach to all the nations among whom we are dispersed:
|
3:5 զոր արարեր ընդ իս եւ ընդ հարս մեր. զի ո՛չ արարաք զպատուիրանս քո, եւ ո՛չ եւս գնացաք ճշմարտութեամբ առաջի քո[21]:
|
3:5 And now thy judgments are many and true: deal with me according to my sins and my fathers': because we have not kept thy commandments, neither have walked in truth before thee:
|
3:6 Արդ` արա՛ ընդ իս ըստ հաճութեան կամաց քոց. եւ տո՛ւր հրաման առնուլ զոգի՛ իմ, զի եղէց արձակեալ ՛ի հոգւոյս` եւ եղէ՛ց հող. վասն զի լա՛ւ է ինձ մեռանել քան զայս կեանս իմ. զի նախատինս սո՛ւտս լուայ, եւ տրտմութիւն բազո՛ւմ է յիս. արձակեա՛ զիս ՛ի վշտաց իմոց ՛ի տեղին յաւիտենից, եւ մի՛ դարձուցաներ զերեսս քո յինէն:

3:6 Now therefore deal with me as seemeth best unto thee, and command my spirit to be taken from me, that I may be dissolved, and become earth: for it is profitable for me to die rather than to live, because I have heard false reproaches, and have much sorrow: command therefore that I may now be delivered out of this distress, and go into the everlasting place: turn not thy face away from me:

3:7 Քանզի եւ ՛ի նմին իսկ աւուր էր լուեալ նորա զիրսն, որ էր անցեալ ընդ Սարրա ընդ դուստրն Հռագուելայ. որ էր յԵկբատանս ՛ի Մարաց գաւառին:

3:7 It came to pass the same day, that in Ecbatane a city of Media Sara the daughter of Raguel was also reproached by her father' s maids:
|
3:8 Զի նախատէին զաղջիկն աղախնայք հօրն իւրոյ զոր էր տուեալ արանց եւթն. եւ Ազմոդ` եւ՛ս դեւն չար սպանանէ՛ր զնոսա, մինչչեւ՛ մերձեցեալ էին ՛ի նա ըստ օրինի արանց եւ կանանց: Եւ նախատէին զնա աղախնայքն եւ ասէին. Ո՞չ իմանաս` զի հեղձուցանես զարսդ քո, զի ահա եւթն այր առեր, եւ ո՛չ ՛ի միո՛ւմ ո՛չ վայելեցեր[22]:

3:8 Because that she had been married to seven husbands, whom Asmodeus the evil spirit had killed, before they had lain with her. Dost thou not know, said they, that thou hast strangled thine husbands? thou hast had already seven husbands, neither wast thou named after any of them:
|
3:9 արդ զմեզ զի՞ տանջես, ընդէ՞ր եւ ո՛չ դո՛ւ ընդ նոսա կորեար. զի ո՛չ տեսանէաք մեք զզաւակ քո մինչեւ յաւիտեան:
|
3:9 Wherefore dost thou beat us for them? if they be dead, go thy ways after them, let us never see of thee either son or daughter:
|
3:10 Զայս իբրեւ լուաւ աղջիկն` տրտմեցա՛ւ յոյժ, եւ կամէր խեղդե՛լ զինքն: Եւ ասէր. Մի՛ եմ ես միամօր հօրն իմում. արդ եթէ առնե՛լ զայս` նախատինս առնե՛մ նմա, եւ իջուցանեմ ես զծերութիւն նորա ցաւօք ՛ի դժոխս[23]:

3:10 Whe she heard these things, she was very sorrowful, so that she thought to have strangled herself; and she said, I am the only daughter of my father, and if I do this, it shall be a reproach unto him, and I shall bring his old age with sorrow unto the grave:
|
3:11 Եւ կա՛յր նա յաղօթս ընդ պատուհանն որ էր ընդդէմ Երուսաղեմի: Եւ ասէր:
|
3:11 Then she prayed toward the window, and said:
|
3:13 Օրհնեալ ես դու Տէր Աստուած իմ. եւ օրհնեալ է անունդ քո սուրբ եւ պատուակա՛ն մինչեւ յաւիտեան:
|
3:13 KJV [10] Blessed art thou, O Lord my God, and thine holy and glorious name is blessed and honourable for ever: let all thy works praise thee for ever:
|
3:14 Եւ արդ Տէր` բոլորով սրտիւ իմով աղաչեցի զքեզ:
|
3:14 KVJ [12] And now, O Lord, I set I mine eyes and my face toward thee:
|
3:15 եւ ասացի հրաժարե՛լ հոգւոյս ՛ի մարմնոյս իմմէ. զի մի՛ եւս յաւելից լսել զնախատինսն[24]:

3:15 KJV [13] And say, Take me out of the earth, that I may hear no more the reproach:
|
3:16 զի դու Տէր գիտես զի սո՛ւրբ եմ ես յամենայն մեղաց կուսութեամբս իմով:

3:16 KJV [14] Thou knowest, Lord, that I am pure from all sin with man:
|
3:17 Եւ ո՛չ է իմ աղտեղեալ զանուն իմ եւ զանուն հօր իմոյ, եւ միամօր եմ ես հօր իմոյ. եւ ո՛չ գոյ որդի որ ժառանգէ զսա, եւ ո՛չ իւր եղբայր մերձաւոր, եւ ո՛չ եղբօրորդի` զի պահեցից ես զանձն իմ նմա կնութեան. զի ահաւասիկ կորեան իմ եւթն այր, արդ զի՞նչ օգուտ է ինձ բնաւ կեալ: Արդ եթէ ո՛չ կամիս զմեռանելս Տէր` նայեա՛ առ իս` եւ ողորմեա՛ ինձ. զի մի՛ եւս լուայց ես զնախատինսն[25]:

3:17 KJV [15] And that I never polluted my name, nor the name of my father, in the land of my captivity: I am the only daughter of my father, neither hath he any child to be his heir, neither any near kinsman, nor any son of his alive, to whom I may keep myself for a wife: my seven husbands are already dead; and why should I live? but if it please not thee that I should die, command some regard to be had of me, and pity taken of me, that I hear no more reproach:

3:24 Եւ լսելի՛ եղեն աղօթք երկոցունն առաջի մեծին Հռափայելայ[26]:

3:25 Եւ առաքեցաւ նա բժշկել զերկոսեան. Տուբիթայ` կեղեւել զլուսնն յաչաց նորա. եւ զՍառայի զդստերն Հռագուելի հանել զԱզմոդ դեւն, եւ տալ զնա կին Տուբիայ որդւոյ Տուբիթայ. վասն զի Տուբիայ ա՛նկ իսկ էր ժառանգել զնա: Եւ ՛ի նմին ժամանակի դարձա՛ւ Տուբիթ եւ եմուտ ՛ի տունն իւր. եւ Սառա դուստրն Հռագուելայ է՛ջ ՛ի վերնատանէ իւրմէ[27]:

3:25 KJV [17] And Raphael was sent to heal them both, that is, to scale away the whiteness of Tobit' s eyes, and to give Sara the daughter of Raguel for a wife to Tobias the son of Tobit; and to bind Asmodeus the evil spirit; because she belonged to Tobias by right of inheritance. The selfsame time came Tobit home, and entered into his house, and Sara the daughter of Raguel came down from her upper chamber:
