4:1 Եւ յաւուր յայնմիկ յիշեաց զարծաթն, զոր եդ առ Գաբայելայ ՛ի Հռագիւս քաղաքի յերկրին Մարաց: Եւ ասէ նա ՛ի միտս իւր. Ես խնդրեցի մա՛հ անձինս իմոյ, ընդէ՞ր ո՛չ կոչեմ զՏուբիա զորդին իմ, եւ ցուցանեմ նմա զամենայն մինչչեւ՛ մեռեալ իցեմ[28]:

4:1 In that day Tobit remembered the money which he had committed to Gabael in Rages of Media:
|
4:2 Եւ կոչեաց զնա եւ ասէ ցնա. Որդեա՛կ իմ:
|
4:2 And said with himself, I have wished for death; wherefore do I not call for my son Tobias that I may signify to him of the money before I die:
|
4:3 եթէ մեռանիցիմ ես` թաղեսջի՛ր զիս` եւ մի՛ անարգիցես, եւ կամ անտես առնիցես զմայրս քո. այլ պատուեսցե՛ս զսա զամենայն աւուրս կենաց քոց, եւ արասցես սմա զամենայն ինչ որ հաճո՛յ է սմա, եւ մի՛ տրտմեցուցանե՛ս զսա[29]:

4:3 And when he had called him, he said, My son, when I am dead, bury me; and despise not thy mother, but honour her all the days of thy life, and do that which shall please her, and grieve her not:

4:4 եւ յիշեսցես դու զի բազում ճգունս կրեաց վասն քո` յորժամ էի՛ր դու յորովայնին:
|
4:4 Remember, my son, that she saw many dangers for thee, when thou wast in her womb:
|
4:5 Եւ յորժամ մեռանիցի` թաղեսցես ընդ իս ՛ի նմի՛ն շիրմի[30]:

4:5 KJV [4] and when she is dead, bury her by me in one grave:

4:6 Եւ յիշեա՛ դու զՏէր Աստուած քո զամենայն աւուրս կենաց քոց. եւ մի՛ մեղանչիցես դու, եւ կամ անցանիցես զպատուիրանօք նորա. այլ առնիցես զարդարութիւն յամենայն ՛ի կեանս քո. եւ մի՛ գնասցես դու ՛ի ճանապարհս անիրաւութեան. զի յորժամ առնիցես դու զճշմարտութիւն` յաջողեսցի՛ն ամենայն գործք քո. եւ ամենեցուն որոց գործեն զարդարութիւն[31]:

4:6 KJV [5] My son, be mindful of the Lord our God all thy days, and let not thy will be set to sin, or to transgress his commandments: do uprightly all thy life long, and follow not the ways of unrighteousness.

4:7 Յընչից քոց առնիցես զողորմութիւնս. եւ մի՛ ագահիցէ ակն քո յորժամ առնիցես զողորմութիւնն. եւ մի՛ դարձուցանիցես զերեսս քո յամենայն աղքատոյ. եւ ՛ի քէն ո՛չ դարձուսցէ Տէր Աստուած զերեսս իւր[32]:

4:7 Give alms of thy substance; and when thou givest alms, let not thine eye be envious, neither turn thy face from any poor, and the face of God shall not be turned away from thee:

4:8 Որչափ եւ իցէ՛ քո` ըստ նմի՛ն բազմութեան արասցես զողորմութիւնսն:
|
4:8 If thou hast abundance give alms accordingly:
|
4:9 եթէ սակա՛ւ իցէ քո` ըստ սակաւին, եւ մի՛ յապաղիցես առնել զողորմութիւնսն:

4:10 զի գանձս բարիս գանձեսցես քեզ յաւուրն կենաց քոց:

4:13 Եւ զգո՛յշ լինիջիր դու անձին քում ՛ի պոռնկութենէ. եւ առնուցուս դու կին` ՛ի զաւակէ՛ հարց քոց. եւ մի՛ առնուցուս դու կին` յազգէ օտարէ. զի որդիք մարգարէի՛ց եմք` Նոյի, Աբրահամու, Սահակայ, եւ Յակոբու հարցն մերոց առաջնոց: Յիշեա՛ դու որդեակ` զի սոքա ամենեքեան առին կանայս յեղբա՛րց իւրեանց, եւ օրհնեցան յորդիս իւրեանց. եւ զաւակ նոցա ժառանգեսցէ զերկիր: Եւ դու որդեակ` սիրեսցե՛ս զեղբարս քո, եւ մի՛ դարձուսցես զերեսս քո, եւ մի՛ դարձուցանիցես զսիրտ քո յեղբարց քոց, յորդւոց եւ ՛ի դստերաց ժողովրդեան քոյ, առնուլ քեզ ՛ի նոցանէ կին[33]:

4:13 Beware of all whoredom, my son, and chiefly take a wife of the seed of thy fathers, and take not a strange woman to wife, which is not of thy father' s tribe: for we are the children of the prophets, Noe, Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob: remember, my son, that our fathers from the beginning, even that they all married wives of their own kindred, and were blessed in their children, and their seed shall inherit the land.

4:20 Եւ յամենայն ժամ օրհնեսցես դու զՏէր Աստուած քո, եւ ՛ի նմանէն խնդրեսցես դու` որպէ՛ս ուղղեսցին ճանապարհք քո, եւ ամենայն խորհուրդք քո եւ գնա՛ցք քո յաջողեսցին. զի ամենայն խորհուրդ մարդոյ ոչի՛նչ են. այլ Տէր ինքնին տայ զխորհուրդս բարեացն, եւ զորս կամի խոնարհեցուսցէ որպէս եւ հաճոյ է նմա: Եւ արդ որդեա՛կ իմ, յիշեսցե՛ս դու զամենայն զպատուիրանս իմ զոր պատուիրեմ ես քեզ. մի՛ ջնջեսցին նոքա ՛ի սրտէ քումմէ[37]:
