Եւ պատասխանի ետ Տուբիա` եւ ասէ ցնա. Հա՛յր` արարի՛ց զամենայն ինչ զոր պատուիրեցեր ինձ:

Tobias then answered and said, Father, I will do all things which thou hast commanded me:
5:2
Այլ ես զիա՞րդ կարացից գտանել զարծաթն, զի ո՛չ գիտեմ զայրն:
5:2
But how can I receive the money, seeing I know him not:
5:3
Եւ ե՛տ նմա զգիր առնն որում կայր գանձն յաւանդի[40]:

Then he gave him the handwriting:
5:4
Եւ ասէ ցնա. Խնդրեա՛ դու քեզ այր որ եկեսցէ՛ ընդ քեզ. եւ ես տաց զվարձս նորա` մինչեւ կենդանիս եմ, եւ երթիցես առցես զարծաթն[41]:

KJV [3] and said unto him, Seek thee a man which may go with thee, whiles I yet live, and I will give him wages: and go and receive the money:

Եւ գնաց Տուբի խնդրե՛լ ընդ իւր վարձաւոր: Եւ եգի՛տ նա զՀռափայէլ հրեշտակ[42]:

KJV [4] Therefore when he went to seek a man, he found Raphael that was an angel:

եւ նա ո՛չ գիտէր ո՞վ իցէ նա:

KJV [5] But he knew not:

Եւ ասէ ցնա Տուբիա. Կարե՞ս գալ դու ընդ իս ՛ի Հռագաւ յերկիրն Մարաց. եւ կամ ե՞ս դու տեղեակ խելամո՛ւտ տեղեացն:

KJV [5] and he said unto him, Canst thou go with me to Rages? and knowest thou those places well:

Ասէ ցնա հրեշտակն. Եկի՛ց ես ընդ քեզ, եւ ճանապարհին տեղեա՛կ եմ, եւ ճանաչեմ զԳաբայէլ զեղբայրն մեր[43]:

KJV [6] To whom the angel said, I will go with thee, and I know the way well: for I have lodged with our brother Gabael:

Եւ ասէ ցնա Տուբիա. Մնա՛ դու վայրիկ մի աստէն` մինչեւ մտից հարցի՛ց ես զհայրն իմ: Եւ ասէ ցնա. Ե՛րթ, եւ մի՛ յամիցես[44]:

KJV [7] Then Tobias said unto him, Tarry for me, till I tell my father:

Եւ եմո՛ւտ պատմեաց հօրն. Ահաւասիկ գտի՛ ընկեր որ գայ ընդ իս: Եւ ասէ ցնա հայր իւր. Կոչեա՛ դու զնա առ իս զի գիտացից թէ յորմէ՞ ազգէ է նա, եւ կամ թէ հաւատարի՞մ է գալ ընդ քեզ:

Then he said unto him, Go and tarry not:

Եւ նա կոչեաց զնա ՛ի ներքս. եւ ողջոյն ետուն միմեանց:

KJV [8] So he went in and said to his father, Behold, I have found one which will go with me. Then he said, Call him unto me, that I may know of what tribe he is, and whether he be a trusty man to go with thee. KJV [9] So he called him, and he came in, and they saluted one another:

Եւ ասէ ցնա Տովբիթ. Եղբայր` յորմէ՞ ցեղիցն մերոց ես դու` պատմեա՛ ինձ:

KJV [10] Then Tobit said unto him, Brother, shew me of what tribe and family thou art:

Եւ ասէ ցնա. Զազգատո՛հմ իմ խնդրես` թէ վարձաւոր որ երթայ ընդ որդւոյդ քում: Եւ ասէ ցնա Տովբիթ. Կամի՛մ եղբայր` գիտե՛լ զազգն քո եւ զանուն[45]:

KJV [11] To whom he said, Dost thou seek for a tribe or family, or an hired man to go with thy son? Then Tobit said unto him, I would know, brother, thy kindred and name:

Եւ ասէ. Անուն է իմ Ազարիա Անանիա որդի մեծի եղբարցն քոց[46]:

KJV [12] Then he said, I am Azarias, the son of Ananias the great, and of thy brethren:

Եւ ասէ ցնա Տովբիթ. Ո՛ղջ եկիր եղբայր` եւ մի՛ ցասնուր ինձ զի խնդրեցի զազգատոհմն քո գիտել, զի դու եղբա՛յր իմ իսկ ես, ՛ի բարի եւ յազնուական յազգէ. զի ճանաչէի եւ ես զԱնանիա եւ զՅաթան` եւ զորդիսն, եւ զՍեմա, եւ զմեծի. յորժամ երթայաք մեք ՛ի միասին երկի՛ր պագանել յԵրուսաղէմ, եւ մատուցանե՛լ զանդրանիկս եւ զտասանորդս արդեանց. եւ ո՛չ մոլորեցան նոքա ըստ մոլորութեան եղբարցն մերոց: Յարմատոյ եւ յազգէ մեծամեծա՛ց ես եղբայր[47]:

KJV [13] Then Tobit said, Thou art welcome, brother; be not now angry with me, because I have enquired to know thy tribe and thy family; for thou art my brother, of an honest and good stock: for I know Ananias and Jonathas, sons of that great Samaias, as we went together to Jerusalem to worship, and offered the firstborn, and the tenths of the fruits; and they were not seduced with the error of our brethren: my brother, thou art of a good stock:

Այլ արդ` ասա՛ դու ինձ, զի՞նչ տայցեմ քեզ վարձս. դրա՛մ մի յաւուր, եւ զռոճիկն որպէս որդւոյն իմում:

KJV [14] But tell me, what wages shall I give thee? wilt thou a drachm a day, and things necessary, as to mine own son:
5:21
Եւ յաւել եւս ՛ի վարձն քո` եթէ ողջութեամբ դառնայցէք այսրէն: Եւ հաճո՛յ թուեցաւ նոցա առնել ա՛յսպէս[48]:

KJV [15] Yea, moreover, if ye return safe, I will add something to thy wages. So they were well pleased:

Եւ ասէ ցնա Տուբիա. Պատրաստեա՛ դու որդեակ ՛ի ճանապարհն, եւ յաջողեսցի ձեզ: Եւ պատրաստեաց մանուկն զթոշակ ճանապարհին: Եւ ասէ ցնա հայրն իւր. Գնա՛ դու որդեակ ընդ առնդ ընդ այդմիկ, այլ որ բնակեալն է յերկինս Աստուած` յաջողեսցէ՛ զճանապարհն ձեր, եւ հրեշտակն նորա ուղեկի՛ց լիցի ձեզ[49]:

KJV [16] Then said he to Tobias, Prepare thyself for the journey, and God send you a good journey. And when his son had prepared all things far the journey, his father said, Go thou with this man, and God, which dwelleth in heaven, prosper your journey, and the angel of God keep you company:

Եւ ելին գնացին երկոքեան ՛ի միասին, եւ շուն պատանեկին ընդ նոսա: Եւ ասէ մայրն նորա լալով. Տուբիթ` զի՞ արձակեցեր զորդեակն ՛ի մէնջ. ո՞չ դա՛ է ցուպ ծերութեան մերոյ, մտանել եւ ելանել առաջի մեր:

KJV [16] So they went forth both, and the young man' s dog with them. KJV [17] But Anna his mother wept, and said to Tobit, Why hast thou sent away our son? is he not the staff of our hand, in going in and out before us:

Արծաթ արծաթոյ մի՛ ժամանեսցէ. այլ եղիցի փոխանակ որդեկին մերոյ:

Be not greedy to add money to money: but let it be as refuse in respect of our child:

Քանզի որ պատրաստեալս է մեզ յԱստուծոյ` բաւակա՛ն է մեզ:

For that which the Lord hath given us to live with doth suffice us:
5:26
Եւ ասէ ցնա Տուբիթ. Մի՛ լիցի քեզ տրտմութիւն քո՛յր. զի ողջութեամբ եկեսցէ, եւ աչք քո տեսցեն զնա:
5:20
Then said Tobit to her, Take no care, my sister; he shall return in safety, and thine eyes shall see him:
5:27
Զի հրեշտակ նորա բարի առաջնորդէ՛ նորա, եւ աջողեսցէ զճանապարհս նորա. եւ դարձցի՛ այսրէն ողջութեամբ[50]:

For the good angel will keep him company, and his journey shall be prosperous, and he shall return safe:

Եւ ապա դադարեաց մայրն ՛ի լալոյ անտի:

KJV [22] Then she made an end of weeping:
