13:1 Ի քսաներորդի եւ երրորդի ամի Յովասու որդւոյ Ոքոզեայ արքայի Յուդայ, թագաւորեաց Յովաքազ որդի Յէուայ ի վերայ Իսրայելի ի Սամարիա ամս եւթն եւ տասն:

13:1 In the three and twentieth year of Joash the son of Ahaziah king of Judah Jehoahaz the son of Jehu began to reign over Israel in Samaria, [and reigned] seventeen years:
|
13:2 Եւ արար չար առաջի Տեառն, եւ գնաց զհետ մեղացն Յերոբովամայ որդւոյ Նաբատայ որ յանցոյցն զԻսրայէլ, եւ ոչ մեկնեցաւ ի նոցանէն:
|
13:2 And he did [that which was] evil in the sight of the LORD, and followed the sins of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, which made Israel to sin; he departed not therefrom:
|
13:3 Եւ բարկացաւ սրտմտութեամբ Տէր Իսրայելի, եւ ետ զնոսա ի ձեռս Ազայելի արքայի Ասորւոց, եւ ի ձեռս [200]որդւոյ Ադերայ`` որդւոյ Ազայելի զամենայն աւուրս:

13:3 And the anger of the LORD was kindled against Israel, and he delivered them into the hand of Hazael king of Syria, and into the hand of Ben- hadad the son of Hazael, all [their] days:
|
13:4 Եւ աղաչեաց Յովաքազ զերեսս Տեառն, եւ լուաւ նմա Տէր. զի ետես զնեղութիւն Իսրայելի զոր նեղեաց զնա արքայն Ասորւոց:
|
13:4 And Jehoahaz besought the LORD, and the LORD hearkened unto him: for he saw the oppression of Israel, because the king of Syria oppressed them:
|
13:5 Եւ ետ Տէր փրկիչ Իսրայելի, եւ ելին ի ձեռանէ Ասորւոց, եւ նստան որդիքն Իսրայելի ի բնակութիւնս իւրեանց որպէս յերէկն եւ յեռանդն:
|
13:5 And the LORD gave Israel a saviour, so that they went out from under the hand of the Syrians: and the children of Israel dwelt in their tents, as beforetime:
|
13:6 Սակայն ոչ մեկնեցան ի մեղացն Յերոբովամայ որդւոյ Նաբատայ որ յանցոյցն զԻսրայէլ, այլ ի նոսա գնացին. նա եւ անտառն կայր ի Սամարիա:
|
13:6 Nevertheless they departed not from the sins of the house of Jeroboam, who made Israel sin, [but] walked therein: and there remained the grove also in Samaria:
|
13:7 Եւ ոչ մնաց Յովաքազայ զօր, այլ հեծեալք յիսուն եւ կառք տասն, եւ տասն հազար հետեւակաց. զի կորոյս զնոսա արքայն Ասորւոց եւ եդ զնոսա իբրեւ զհող ի կոխումն:

13:7 Neither did he leave of the people to Jehoahaz but fifty horsemen, and ten chariots, and ten thousand footmen; for the king of Syria had destroyed them, and had made them like the dust by threshing:
|
13:8 Եւ մնացորդք բանից Յովաքազու եւ ամենայն ինչ զոր արար եւ զօրութիւնք նորա, ո՞չ աւանիկ գրեալ են ի գիրս բանից աւուրց թագաւորացն Իսրայելի:
|
13:8 Now the rest of the acts of Jehoahaz, and all that he did, and his might, [are] they not written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Israel:
|
13:9 Եւ ննջեաց Յովաքազ ընդ հարս իւր, եւ թաղեցին զնա [201]ընդ հարս նորա`` ի Սամարիա. եւ թագաւորեաց Յովաս որդի նորա ընդ նորա:
|
13:9 And Jehoahaz slept with his fathers; and they buried him in Samaria: and Joash his son reigned in his stead:
|
13:10 Յամի երեսներորդի եւ եւթներորդի Յովասու արքայի Յուդայ թագաւորեաց Յովաս որդի Յովաքազու ի վերայ Իսրայելի ի Սամարիա ամս [202]երկոտասան:
|
13:10 In the thirty and seventh year of Joash king of Judah began Jehoash the son of Jehoahaz to reign over Israel in Samaria, [and reigned] sixteen years:
|
13:11 Եւ արար չար առաջի Տեառն, եւ ոչ մեկնեցաւ յամենայն մեղաց Յերոբովամու որդւոյ Նաբատայ որ յանցոյցն զԻսրայէլ, այլ ի նոսա գնաց:
|
13:11 And he did [that which was] evil in the sight of the LORD; he departed not from all the sins of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, who made Israel sin: [but] he walked therein:
|
13:12 Եւ մնացորդք բանից Յովասու եւ ամենայն ինչ զոր արար եւ զօրութիւնք նորա [203]զոր արար ընդ արքային`` Յուդայ, ո՞չ աւանիկ գրեալ են ի գիրս բանից աւուրց թագաւորացն Իսրայելի:

13:12 And the rest of the acts of Joash, and all that he did, and his might wherewith he fought against Amaziah king of Judah, [are] they not written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Israel:
|
13:13 Եւ ննջեաց Յովաս ընդ հարս իւր, եւ Յերոբովամ նստաւ յաթոռ նորա. եւ թաղեցաւ Յովաս ի Սամարիա ընդ թագաւորս Իսրայելի:
|
13:13 And Joash slept with his fathers; and Jeroboam sat upon his throne: and Joash was buried in Samaria with the kings of Israel:
|
13:14 Եւ Եղիսէ հիւանդացաւ հիւանդութիւն, որով եւ մեռաւ իսկ. եւ էջ առ նա Յովաս արքայ Իսրայելի, եւ ելաց ի վերայ երեսաց նորա եւ ասէ. Հայր, հայր, կառքդ Իսրայելի եւ հեծեալք նորա:

13:14 Now Elisha was fallen sick of his sickness whereof he died. And Joash the king of Israel came down unto him, and wept over his face, and said, O my father, my father, the chariot of Israel, and the horsemen thereof:
|
13:15 Եւ ասէ ցնա Եղիսէ. Ա՛ռ դու [204]զաղեղն քո եւ զնետս քո``: Եւ առ զաղեղն եւ զնետս:
|
13:15 And Elisha said unto him, Take bow and arrows. And he took unto him bow and arrows:
|
13:16 Եւ ասէ ցարքայն Իսրայելի. Մուտ ընդ աղեղնդ ձեռօք քովք: Եւ եմուտ ընդ աղեղնն ձեռօք իւրովք. եւ եդ Եղիսէ զձեռն իւր ի վերայ ձեռաց արքային:

13:16 And he said to the king of Israel, Put thine hand upon the bow. And he put his hand [upon it]: and Elisha put his hands upon the king' s hands:
|
13:17 եւ ասէ. Բաց զպատուհանդ որ է ընդ արեւելս: Եւ եբաց. եւ ասէ Եղիսէ. Ձգեա: Եւ ձգեաց. եւ ասէ. Նետ փրկութեան Տեառն, եւ նետ փրկութեան ընդդէմ Ասորւոց. եւ հարցես զԱսորիս յԱփեկ մինչեւ ի սպառ:

13:17 And he said, Open the window eastward. And he opened [it]. Then Elisha said, Shoot. And he shot. And he said, The arrow of the LORD' S deliverance, and the arrow of deliverance from Syria: for thou shalt smite the Syrians in Aphek, till thou have consumed:

13:18 Եւ ասէ ցնա Եղիսէ. Ա՛ռ դու քեզ նետս: Եւ առ: Եւ ասէ ցարքայն Իսրայելի. Ձգեա եւ հար զգետինդ: Եւ եհար արքայն երիցս եւ եկաց:
|
13:18 And he said, Take the arrows. And he took [them]. And he said unto the king of Israel, Smite upon the ground. And he smote thrice, and stayed:
|
13:19 Եւ [205]տրտմեցաւ ի վերայ նորա այրն Աստուծոյ, եւ ասէ. Եթէ հարեալ էիր հնգիցս կամ վեցիցս, յայնժամ հարկանէիր զԱսորիս մինչեւ ի սպառ. եւ արդ երիցս հարցես զԱսորիս:

13:19 And the man of God was wroth with him, and said, Thou shouldest have smitten five or six times; then hadst thou smitten Syria till thou hadst consumed [it]: whereas now thou shalt smite Syria [but] thrice:
|
13:20 Եւ մեռաւ Եղիսէ եւ թաղեցին զնա. եւ մեկնակազէնքն Մովաբու ելին յերկիրն ի գալ տարւոյն:
|
13:20 And Elisha died, and they buried him. And the bands of the Moabites invaded the land at the coming in of the year:
|
13:21 Եւ եղեւ ի թաղել նոցա զայր մի, եւ ահա տեսին զմեկնակազէնսն եւ ընկեցին զայրն ի գերեզմանն Եղիսէի. եւ գնաց եւ մերձեցաւ յոսկերսն Եղիսէի եւ կենդանացաւ, եւ կանգնեցաւ ի վերայ ոտից իւրոց:

13:21 And it came to pass, as they were burying a man, that, behold, they spied a band [of men]; and they cast the man into the sepulchre of Elisha: and when the man was let down, and touched the bones of Elisha, he revived, and stood up on his feet:
|
13:22 Եւ Ազայէլ արքայ Ասորւոց նեղեաց զԻսրայէլ զամենայն աւուրս Յովաքազու:
|
13:22 But Hazael king of Syria oppressed Israel all the days of Jehoahaz:
|
13:23 Եւ ողորմեցաւ նոցա Տէր եւ գթացաւ ի նոսա եւ հայեցաւ ի նոսա վասն ուխտին իւրոյ որ ընդ Աբրահամու եւ ընդ Իսահակայ եւ ընդ Յակոբայ. եւ ոչ կամեցաւ Տէր ապականել զնոսա, եւ ոչ ընկէց զնոսա յերեսաց [206]իւրոց:

13:23 And the LORD was gracious unto them, and had compassion on them, and had respect unto them, because of his covenant with Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, and would not destroy them, neither cast he them from his presence as yet:
|
13:24 Եւ մեռաւ Ազայէլ արքայ Ասորւոց, եւ թագաւորեաց [207]որդի Ադերայ`` որդի նորա ընդ նորա:
|
13:24 So Hazael king of Syria died; and Ben- hadad his son reigned in his stead:
|
13:25 Եւ դարձաւ Յովաս որդի Յովաքազու, եւ առ զքաղաքսն ի ձեռաց [208]որդւոյ Ադերայ`` որդւոյ Ազայելի, զորս ա՛ռ ի ձեռաց Յովաքազու հօր նորա ի պատերազմին. երիցս եհար զնա Յովաս, եւ դարձոյց զքաղաքսն Իսրայելի:

13:25 And Jehoash the son of Jehoahaz took again out of the hand of Ben- hadad the son of Hazael the cities, which he had taken out of the hand of Jehoahaz his father by war. Three times did Joash beat him, and recovered the cities of Israel:
