Դատաւոր իմաստուն խրատ ժողովրդեան:

1. A wise judge will instruct his people; And the government of a man of understanding shall be well ordered.

ըստ հրամանի նորա եւ հարկահանքն:

2. As is the judge of his people, so are his ministers; And as is the ruler of the city, all they that dwell therein.
10:2 and the government of a prudent man is well ordered. KJV [2 ] As the judge of the people is himself, so are his officers; and what manner of man the ruler of the city is, such are all they that dwell therein:

Թագաւոր անխրատ` կորուսանէ զզօրս. քաղաք շինեսցի յիմաստութենէ իշխանաց:

3. An uninstructed king will destroy his people; And a city will be established through the understanding of the powerful.
10:3 An unwise king destroyeth his people; but through the prudence of them which are in authority the city shall be inhabited:
10:4
Իշխանութիւն երկրի ՛ի ձեռս Աստուծոյ, եւ զպիտանին յարուսցէ ՛ի ժամանակի[38]:

4. In the hand of the Lord is the authority of the earth; And in due time he will raise up over it one that is profitable.
10:4 The power of the earth is in the hand of the Lord, and in due time he will set over it one that is profitable:
10:5
՛Ի ձեռս Տեառն է առնն ուղղութիւն, եւ ՛ի վերայ երեսաց գրով դիցէ զփառս իւր:

10:5
5. In the hand of the Lord is the prosperity of a man; And upon the person of the scribe shall he lay his honour.
10:5 In the hand of God is the prosperity of man: and upon the person of the scribe shall he lay his honour:
10:6
Ոխս ընկերի վասն ամենայն յանցանաց մի՛ ունիցիս: Որդեակ ՛ի ստութենէ եւ ՛ի մեղաց հեռասցիս:

10:6
6. Be not wroth with thy neighbour for every wrong; And do nothing by works of violence.
10:6 Bear not hatred to thy neighbour for every wrong; and do nothing at all by injurious practices:
10:7
Ամբարտաւանութիւն ատելի է Աստուծոյ եւ մարդկան:

10:7
7. Pride is hateful before the Lord and men; And in the judgement of both will unrighteousness err.
10:7 Pride is hateful before God and man: and by both doth one commit iniquity:
10:8
Թագաւորութիւն ազգէ յազգ փոխի, եւ վասն անիրաւութեան եւ հպարտութեան կորնչին:

8. Sovereignty is transferred from nation to nation, Because of iniquities, and deeds of violence, and greed of money.
10:8 Because of unrighteous dealings, injuries, and riches got by deceit, the kingdom is translated from one people to another. KJV [9] Why is earth and ashes proud? There is not a more wicked thing than a covetous man: for such an one setteth his own soul to sale; because while he liveth he casteth away his bowels. KJV [10] The physician cutteth off a long disease:

Թագաւոր այսօր է` եւ վաղիւ մեռանի:

9. Why is earth and ashes proud? Because in life he hath cast away his bowels.
10:11 and he that is to day a king to morrow shall die. KJV [11] For when a man is dead, he shall inherit creeping things, beasts, and worms:

Ամբարտաւանութեան սկիզբն` հեռանալ ՛ի Տեառնէ. զի յարարչէն խոտորեցաւ սիրտ նորա:

10. a long disease; the physician mocketh: And a king to-day, and to-morrow he shall die.
10:14 The beginning of pride is when one departeth from God, and his heart is turned away from his Maker. KJV [13] For pride is the beginning of sin, and he that hath it shall pour out abomination: and therefore the Lord brought upon them strange calamities, and overthrew them utterly:

Զաթոռս ամբարտաւանից կործանեսցէ Տէր:

11. For when a man is dead, He shall inherit creeping things, and beasts, and worms.
10:17 The Lord hath cast down the thrones of proud princes, and set up the meek in their stead:
10:18
Զարմատս հեթանոսաց խլեաց Տէր, եւ փոխանակ նոցա տնկեաց զհանդարտս, եւ զբարեպաշտս:

12. the beginning of pride when a man departeth from the Lord; And his heart is departed from him that made him.
10:18 The Lord hath plucked up the roots of the proud nations, and planted the lowly in their place. KJV [16] The Lord overthrew countries of the heathen, and destroyed them to the foundations of the earth. KJV [17] He took some of them away, and destroyed them, and hath made their memorial to cease from the earth:
10:22
Ամբարտաւանութիւն ոչ ընդ մարդկան ստեղծաւ. վասն այնորիկ զօրացոյց Տէր զբարկութիւն եւ կործանեաց զնա[39]:

13. For the beginning of pride is sin; And he that keepeth it will pour forth abomination. For this cause the Lord brought upon them strange calamities, And overthrew them utterly.
10:22 Pride was not made for men, nor furious anger for them that are born of a woman:
10:23
Ո՞ր է պատուական զաւակ մարդկան, երկիւղածաց Տեառն զաւակ պատուական: Զաւակ անա՛րգ է որ անցանէ զպատուիրանաւ ծնողաց[40]:

14. The Lord cast down the thrones of rulers, And set the meek in their stead.
10:23 They that fear the Lord are a sure seed, and they that love him an honourable plant: they that regard not the law are a dishonourable seed; they that transgress the commandments are a deceivable seed:

՛Ի մէջ եղբարց երէցն է պատուական, իսկ որ ՛ի Տեառնէ երկնչի` պատուական է քան զնա[41]:

15. The Lord plucked up the roots of nations, And planted the lowly in their stead.
10:24 Among brethren he that is chief is honorable; so are they that fear the Lord in his eyes. KJV [20] The fear of the Lord goeth before the obtaining of authority: but roughness and pride is the losing thereof:

Փառաւորին մեծին եւ աղքատին պարծանք` երկիւղ Տեառն:

16. The Lord overthrew the lands of nations, And destroyed them unto the foundations of the earth.
10:25 Whether he be rich, noble, or poor, their glory is the fear of the Lord:
10:26
Զայր աղքատ եւ իմաստուն անարգել չէ՛ պարտ:

17. He took some of them away, and destroyed them, And made their memorial to cease from the earth.
10:26 It is not meet to despise the poor man that hath understanding; neither is it convenient to magnify a sinful man:
10:27
Հզօրն եւ իշխանն պատուեսցի:

18. Pride hath not been created for men, Nor wrathful anger for the offspring of women.
10:27 Great men, and judges, and potentates, shall be honoured; yet is there none of them greater than he that feareth the Lord. KJV [25] Unto the servant that is wise shall they that are free do service: and he that hath knowledge will not grudge when he is reformed. KJV [26] Be not overwise in doing thy business; and boast not thyself in the time of thy distress. KJV [27] Better is he that laboureth, and aboundeth in all things, than he that boasteth himself, and wanteth bread:

Ո՞րդեակ` անձին քում հեզութեամբ շուք դիր:

19. What manner of seed hath honour? the seed of man. What manner of seed hath honour? they that fear the Lord. What manner of seed hath no honour? the seed of man. What manner of seed hath no honour? they that transgress the commandments.
10:31 My son, glorify thy soul in meekness, and give it honour according to the dignity thereof:
10:32
զի որ անձամբ յանձն մեղանչէ` ո՞վ արդարացուսցէ զնա: Որ զկեանս իւր անարգէ` ո՞վ մեծարէ զնա:

10:32
20. In the midst of brethren he that ruleth them hath honour; And in the eyes of the Lord they that fear him.
10:32 Who will justify him that sinneth against his own soul? and who will honour him that dishonoureth his own life:
10:33
Մեծն ՛ի մեծութեան փառաւորի, եւ աղքատն ՛ի հանճար իւր:

10:33 The poor man is honoured for his skill, and the rich man is honoured for his riches. KJV [31] He that is honoured in poverty, how much more in riches? and he that is dishonourable in riches, how much more in poverty:
