19:1 Զի եւ մշակ արբշիռ ո՛չ հասցէ ՛ի մեծութիւն: Որ անարգէ զսակաւն` առ փոքր փոքր կործանեսցի[63]:

19:1 1. A workman that is a drunkard shall not become rich: He that despiseth small things shall fall by little and little.
19:1 A labouring man that A is given to drunkenness shall not be rich: and he that contemneth small things shall fall by little and little: |
19:2 Կանայք եւ գինի կործանեն զիմաստութիւն. յանդուգն յանձն` սատակեսցի:

19:2 2. Wine and women will make men of understanding to fall away: And he that cleaveth to harlots will be the more reckless.
19:2 Wine and women will make men of understanding to fall away: and he that cleaveth to harlots will become impudent. KJV [3] Moths and worms shall have him to heritage, and a bold man shall be taken away: |
19:4 Որ վաղվաղկոտ է ՛ի հաւատալ` թեթեւ է սրտիւ, եւ որ յանցանէ` յանձն իւր մեղանչէ:

19:4 3. Moths and worms shall have him to heritage; And a reckless soul shall be taken away.
19:4 He that is hasty to give credit is lightminded; and he that sinneth shall offend against his own soul: |
19:5 Որ լիրբ է մտօք` ըստգիւտ լիցի բազմաց:

19:5 4. He that is hasty to trust is light-minded; And he that sinneth shall offend against his own soul.
19:5 Whoso taketh pleasure in wickedness shall be condemned: but he that resisteth pleasures crowneth his life. KJV [6] He that can rule his tongue shall live without strife; and he that hateth babbling shall have less evil. KJV [7] Rehearse not unto another that which is told unto thee, and thou shalt fare never the worse: |
19:7 ՛Ի բարեկամն եւ ՛ի թշնամին մի՛ յօժարեր երկրորդել զբան:

19:7 5. He that maketh merry in his heart shall be condemned:
19:7 Whether it be to friend or foe, talk not of other men' s lives: |
19:8 Եթէ մեղք ո՛չ իցեն ՛ի ներքս` բնաւ եւ յայտներ մի:

19:8 6. And he that hateth talk hath the less wickedness.
19:8 and if thou canst without offence, reveal them not: |
19:9 զի լուաւ նա` եւ զգուշացաւ ՛ի քէն:
|
19:9 7. Never repeat what is told thee, And thou shalt fare never the worse.
19:9 For he heard and observed thee, and when time cometh he will hate thee: |
19:10 Լուար ինչ բան` մեռցի ՛ի սրտի քում, պի՛նդ կաց` ո՛չ հերձու եւ ելանէ արտաքս:

19:10 8. Whether it be of friend or foe, tell it not; And unless it is a sin to thee, reveal it not.
19:10 If thou hast heard a word, let it die with thee; and be bold, it will not burst thee. KJV [11] A fool travaileth with a word, as a woman in labour of a child: |
19:12 Իբրեւ նետ հարեալ ՛ի մարմին մարդոյ, այսպէս բան ՛ի սրտի անմտի:

19:12 9. For he hath heard thee, and observed thee, And when the time cometh he will hate thee.
19:12 As an arrow that sticketh in a man' s thigh, so is a word within a fool' s belly: |
19:13 Յանդիմա՛ն արա զբարեկամն` թերեւս չիցէ իսկ յանցուցեալ, ապա թէ իցէ մեղուցեալ, դարձեալ զգուշացո՛` զի բարեկամութիւնն հաստատեսցի:

19:13 10. Hast thou heard a word? let it die with thee: Be of good courage, it will not burst thee.
19:13 Admonish a friend, it may be he hath not done it: and if he have done it, that he do it no more. Admonish thy friend, it may be he hath not said it: and if he have, that he speak it not again. Admonish a friend: |
19:16 Բազում են բանսարկութիւնք, եւ դու ամենայն բանից մի՛ հաւատար:

19:16 11. A fool will travail in pain with a word, As a woman in labour with a child.
19:16 for many times it is a slander, and believe not every tale: |
19:17 Է՛ ոք որ գթէ` եւ ո՛չ մտօք, զի ո՞վ է` որ ո՛չ յանցեաւ մտօք կամ լեզուաւ[64]:

19:17 12. As an arrow that sticketh in the flesh of the thigh, So is a word in a fool’s belly.
19:17 There is one that slippeth in his speech, but not from his heart; and who is he that hath not offended with his tongue? KJV [17] Admonish thy neighbour before thou threaten him; and not being angry, give place to the law of the most High: |
19:18 Ամենայն իմաստութիւն երկիւղ Տեառն:

19:18 13. Reprove a friend; it may be he did it not: And if he did something, that he may do it no more.
19:18 The fear of the Lord is all wisdom; KJV 18 The fear of the Lord is the first step to be accepted [of him,] and wisdom obtaineth his love. KJV [19] The knowledge of the commandments of the Lord is the doctrine of life: and they that do things that please him shall receive the fruit of the tree of immortality. KJV [21] and in all wisdom is the performance of the law, and the knowledge of his omnipotency. KJV [21] If a servant say to his master, I will not do as it pleaseth thee; though afterward he do it, he angereth him that nourisheth him: |
19:19 չէ՛ իմաստութիւն խրատ չարեաց, եւ ո՛չ ՛ի խորհուրդ մեղաւորաց իմաստութիւն:

19:19 14. Reprove thy neighbour; it may be he said it not: And if he hath said it, that he may not say it again.
19:19 The knowledge of wickedness is not wisdom, neither at any time the counsel of sinners prudence. KJV [23] There is a wickedness, and the same an abomination; and there is a fool wanting in wisdom: |
19:21 Լաւ է պակասամիտն երկիւղած, քան որ լի է մտօք, եւ յանդգնի անցանել ըստ օրէնս[65]:

19:21 15. Reprove a friend; for many times there is slander: And trust not every word.
19:21 He that hath small understanding, and feareth God, is better than one that hath much wisdom, and transgresseth the law of the most High: |
19:22 Է՛ խորագիտութիւն ճշմարիտ, եւ լի է ապիրատութեամբ եւ անիրաւութեամբ:

19:22 16. There is one that slippeth, and not from the heart: And who is he that hath not sinned with his tongue?
19:22 There is an exquisite subtilty, and the same is unjust; and there is one that turneth aside to make judgment appear; and there is a wise man that justifieth in judgment: |
19:23 Եւ է՛ որ կորուսանէ զշնորհս` զի յայտնի արասցէ զիրաւունս: Եւ է խորամանկ խոնարհ` շրջի ՛ի ծածուկ, եւ փոր նորա լի է նենգութեամբ:

19:23 17. Reprove thy neighbour before thou threaten him; And give place to the law of the Most High.
19:23 There is a wicked man that hangeth down his head sadly; but inwardly he is full of deceit, KJV [27] Casting down his countenance, and making as if he heard not: where he is not known, he will do thee a mischief before thou be aware. KJV [28] And if for want of power he be hindered from sinning, yet when he findeth opportunity he will do evil: |
19:26 Մարդ յականէ իսկ երեւի, եւ ՛ի պատահել երեսաց ճանաչի իմաստութիւն:

19:26 A man may be known by his look, and one that hath understanding by his countenance, when thou meetest him: |
19:27 Հանդերձ մարդոյ եւ ծաղր երեսաց եւ քայլ ոտից պատմէ զնմանէ:

19:27 A man' s attire, and excessive laughter, and gait, shew what he is: |
19:28 Է՛ յանդիմանութիւն` որ ո՛չ է բարի. եւ է լռութիւն` որ է իմաստութիւն:

19:28 20. All wisdom is the fear of the Lord; And in all wisdom is the doing of the law.
19:28 KJV [20:1] There is a reproof that is not comely: again, some man holdeth his tongue, and he is wise. verse missing: |
