29:1
Որ առնէ զողորմութիւն` փոխ տայ ընկերի, եւ որ սփռէ ձեռա՛մբ` պահէ զպատուիրանս:

29:1
1. He that sheweth mercy will lend unto his neighbour; And he that strengtheneth him with his hand keepeth the commandments.
29:1 He that is merciful will lend unto his neighbour; and he that strengtheneth his hand keepeth the commandments. KJV [2] Lend to thy neighbour in time of his need, and pay thou thy neighbour again in due season. KJV [3] Keep thy word, and deal faithfully with him, and thou shalt always find the thing that is necessary for thee:

Բազո՛ւմք են որ զփոխն իբրեւ զգիւտ համարեցան, եւ ջան մեծ հասուցին փոխատուաց իւրեանց:

2. Lend to thy neighbour in time of his need; And pay thou thy neighbour again in due season.
29:4 Many, when a thing was lent them, reckoned it to be found, and put them to trouble that helped them:

Յառնո՛ւլն համբուրեն զձեռս, եւ յայլոյ իրաց զիւր ձայնն յեղուկս արկանէ[87]:

3. Confirm thy word, and keep faith with him; And at all seasons thou shalt find what thou needest.
29:5 Till he hath received, he will kiss a man' s hand; and for his neighbour' s money he will speak submissly:

եւ ՛ի ժամանակի հատուցմա՛նն յապաղէ զժամանակն` եւ բանս տայ ձանձրալիս:

4. Many have reckoned a loan as a windfall, And have given trouble to those that helped them.
29:6 KJV [5] but when he should repay, he will prolong the time, and return words of grief, and complain of the time:

եւ եթէ կարի տագնապիցէ` զկէսն թէ վճարէ, եւ նա ՛ի միտս համարի եթէ գիւտս գտի:

5. Till he hath received, he will kiss a man’s hands; And for his neighbour’s money he will speak submissly: And when payment is due, he will prolong the time, And return words of heaviness, and complain of the times.
29:7 KJV [6] If he prevail, he shall hardly receive the half, and he will count as if he had found it: if not, he hath deprived him of his money:

Զանէծս եւ բամբասանս արկանէ ՛ի վերայ նորա:

6. If he prevail, he shall hardly receive the half; And he will count it as a windfall: If not, he hath deprived him of his money, And he hath gotten him for an enemy without cause: He will pay him with cursings and railings; And for honour he will pay him disgrace.

7. Many on account of ill-dealing have turned away; They have feared to be defrauded for nought.

եւ փոխանակ մեծարանաց անարգանս:

8. Howbeit with a man in poor estate be longsuffering; And let him not wait for alms.
29:9 KJV [6] and for honour he will pay him disgrace. KJV [7] Many therefore have refused to lend for other men' s ill dealing, fearing to be defrauded. KJV [8] Yet have thou patience with a man in poor estate, and delay not to shew him mercy:

Յաղագս պատուիրանին օգնակա՛ն լեր աղքատի, եւ յողորմութենէ մի՛ ունայն զնա արձակեր:

9. Help a poor man for the commandment’s sake; And according to his need send him not empty away.
29:12 KJV [9] Help the poor for the commandment' s sake, and turn him not away because of his poverty:

Կորո՛ զարծաթ վասն եղբօր եւ բարեկամի, եւ մի՛ ժանգակեր լիցի ընդ կորուստ վիմաւ:

10. Lose money for a brother and a friend; And let it not rust under the stone to be lost.

Զգա՛նձս տուր չքաւորաց ըստ պատուիրանի:

11. Bestow thy treasure according to the commandments of the Most High; And it shall profit thee more than gold.
29:14 KJV [11] Lay up thy treasure according to the commandments of the most High, and it shall bring thee more profit than gold. 14 KJV [12] Shut up alms in thy storehouses: and it shall deliver thee from all affliction:

12. Shut up alms in thy store-chambers; And it shall deliver thee out of all affliction:
29:17 KJV [13] It shall fight for thee against thine enemies better than a mighty shield and strong spear:

Այր բարերար երաշխաւոր լիցի բարեկամի:

13. It shall fight for thee against thine enemy Better than a mighty shield and a ponderous spear.
29:19 KJV [14] An honest man is surety for his neighbour: but he that is impudent will forsake him:
29:20
եւ զշնորհ երաշխաւորութեան նորա մի՛ մոռանար, զի նա ետ զանձն փոխանակ քո:

14. A good man will be surety for his neighbour; And he that hath lost shame will fail him.
29:20 KJV [15] Forget not the friendship of thy surety, for he hath given his life for thee. KJV [16] A sinner will overthrow the good estate of his surety: KJV [17] And he that is of an unthankful mind will leave him [in danger] that delivered him:

Երաշխաւորութիւն զբազումս կորոյս` եւ եհան ՛ի բարւոյ:

15. Forget not the good offices of thy surety; For he hath given his life for thee.

եւ մոլորեցոյց զնոսա յազգ օտար:

16. A sinner will overthrow the good estate of his surety;
29:25 KJV [18] so that they wandered among strange nations:

Յերաշխաւորութիւն մեղաւորի մի՛ անկցիս, եւ չարայօժարն մտցէ ՛ի դատաստան նորա:

29:26
17. And he that is of an unthankful mind will fail him that delivered him.
29:26 KVJ [19] A wicked man transgressing the commandments of the Lord shall fall into suretiship: and he that undertaketh and followeth other men' s business for gain shall fall into suits. KJV [20] Help thy neighbour according to thy power, and beware that thou thyself fall not into the same:

Սկիզբն կենաց մարդկան` ջո՛ւր, հո՛ւր, հա՛ց, եւ հանդերձ, եւ տո՛ւն որ ծածկէ զանարգանս:

18. Suretiship hath undone many that were prospering, And shaken them as a wave of the sea: Mighty men hath it driven from their homes; And they wandered among strange nations.
29:28 KJV [21] The chief thing for life is water, and bread, and clothing, and an house to cover shame:

Լաւ են կեանք աղքատին ընդ յարկաւ փայտից իւրոց, քան զսրահս մեծամեծս յօտար սեղանոյ:

19. A sinner that falleth into suretiship, And undertaketh contracts for work, shall fall into lawsuits.
29:29 KJV [22] Better is the life of a poor man in a mean cottage, than delicate fare in another man' s house:

Զմեծն եւ զփոքրն յականէ մի՛ փորձեր:

20. Help thy neighbour according to thy power, And take heed to thyself that thou fall not
29:30 KJV [23] Be it little or much, hold thee contented, that thou hear not the reproach of thy house:

Կեա՛նք չար է փոխել տանէ ՛ի տուն, եւ ուր պանդխտեսցիս` ո՛չ գտցես համարձակութիւն:

21. The chief thing for life is water, and bread, And a garment, and a house to cover shame.
29:31 KJV [24] For it is a miserable life to go from house to house: for where thou art a stranger, thou darest not open thy mouth:
29:32
թէպէտ ջանաս եւ վաստակես` անօգուտ է, եւ ՛ի վերայ այսր ամենայնի չար բանս լսես:

22. Better is the life of a poor man under a shelter of logs, Than sumptuous fare in another man’s house.
29:32 KJV [25] Thou shalt entertain, and feast, and have no thanks: moreover thou shalt hear bitter words: KJV [26] Come, thou stranger, and furnish a table, and feed me of that thou hast ready:

եթէ ե՛կ ե՛լ ՛ի տանէ այտի. պարապեցո՛ զտունդ յորում ես, զի եղբայր սիրելի եւ բարեկամ եկեա՛լ է:

23. With little or with much, be well satisfied.
29:34 KJV [27] Give place, thou stranger, to an honourable man; my brother cometh to be lodged, and I have need of mine house:

Այս ծանր է մարդոյ լսել` որոյ միտք իւր առ ի՛ւր է. զի պախարակեաց զնա կենդանւոյն, եւ զտառապանօք կեանս նորա մատն արար բազմաց:

24. It is a miserable life to go from house to house: And where thou art a sojourner, thou shalt not open thy mouth.
29:35 KJV [28] These things are grievous to a man of understanding; the upbraiding of houseroom, and reproaching of the lender:
