Յաջողեա՛ց զգործս նոցա ՛ի ձեռն մարգարէին սրբոյ:

2. They journeyed through a desert without inhabitant, And in trackless regions they pitched their tents.

Ընդդէմ դարձան պատերազմողաց. եւ վանեցին զթշնամիս:

3. They withstood enemies, and repelled foes.
11:3 They stood against their enemies, and were avenged of their adversaries:

Ծարաւեցան եւ կարդացին առ քեզ, եւ տուաւ նոցա ջո՛ւր յապառաժ վիմէ, եւ փափա՛ք ծարաւոյ ՛ի խի՛ստ վիմէ:

4. They thirsted, and they called upon thee, And there was given them water out of the flinty rock, And healing of their thirst out of the hard stone.
11:4 When they were thirsty, they called upon thee, and water was given them out of the flinty rock, and their thirst was quenched out of the hard stone:

Զի որովք տանջեցան թշնամիք նոցա:

5. For by what things their foes were punished, By these they in their need were benefited.

նոքի՛մբք սոքա կարօտեալք գտին բարերարութիւն[153]:

6. When were troubled with clotted blood instead of a river’s ever-flowing fountain,

Որոց փոխանակ մշտնջենաւոր գետոյն արեամբ կարմրացելոյ խռովեցելոց[154]:

7. To rebuke the decree for the slaying of babes, Thou gavest them abundant water beyond all hope,
11:7 KJV [6] For instead of of a perpetual running river troubled with foul blood:

՛ի կշտամբութիւն տղայակոտո՛ր հրամանին: Ետուր ջուր առատութեան անյոյսս:

8. Having shewn by the thirst which they had suffered how thou didst punish the adversaries.
11:8 KJV [7] For a manifest reproof of that commandment, whereby the infants were slain, thou gavest unto them abundance of water by a means which they hoped not for:
11:9
ցուցեալ վասն յա՛յն ժամու ծարաւոյ. որպէս տանջեցեր զհակառակորդսն[155]:

9. For when they were tried, albeit but in mercy chastened, They learned how the ungodly were tormented, being judged with wrath:
11:9 KJV [8] Declaring by that thirst then how thou hadst punished their adversaries:

յորժամ զչա՛փ առին. թէպէտ եւ ողորմութեամբ խրատեցան. ծանեան թէ զիա՞րդ բարկութեամբ դատեալ ամպարիշտք տանջիցին[156]:

10. For these, as a father, admonishing them, thou didst prove; But those, as a stern king, condemning them, thou didst search out.
11:10 KJV [9] For when they were tried albeit but in mercy chastised, they knew how the ungodly were judged in wrath and tormented, thirsting in another manner than the just:

Զսոսա իբրեւ հայր խրատեալ փորձեցեր. եւ զնոսա իբրեւ զսաստիկ թագաւոր դատապարտեալ կշտամբեցեր[157]:

11. Yea and whether they were far off or near they were alike distressed;
11:11 KJV [10] For these thou didst admonish and try, as a father: but the other, as a severe king, thou didst condemn and punish:

Հեռացեալք եւ մօտեալք` զնո՛յն օրինակ վտանգէին:

12. For a double grief took hold on them, And a groaning at the remembrance of things past.

զի կրկի՛ն կալաւ զնոսա տրտմութիւն եւ հեծութիւն անցելոց յիշատակաց:

13. For when they heard that through their own punishments the others had been benefited, They felt the Lord;
11:13 KJV [12] For a double grief came upon them, and a groaning for the remembrance of things past:

Զի յորժամ լսէին իւրեանց տանջանօքն երախտաւորեալք` առնուին զքո չափ Տէր:

14. For him who long before was cast forth and exposed they left off mocking: In the last issue of what came to pass they marvelled, Having thirsted in another manner than the righteous.
11:14 KJV [13] For when they heard by their own punishments the other to be benefited, they had some feeling of the Lord:
11:15
Զի զոր երէ՛կ եւ ՛ի վաղո՛ւց հետէ ընկեցեալ ուրացան եւ ծաղր առնէին, ՛ի վախճանի նոցի՛ն ելիցն զարմանային, զի ո՛չ նման արդարոցն ծարաւեալք[158]:

15. But in requital of the senseless imaginings of their unrighteousness, Wherein they were led astray to worship irrational reptiles and wretched vermin, Thou didst send upon them a multitude of irrational creatures for vengeance;
11:15 KJV [14] For whom they respected with scorn, when he was long before thrown out at the casting forth of the infants, him in the end, when they saw what came to pass, they admired:
11:16
Փոխանակ անմիտ խորհրդոց անիրաւութեան իւրեանց, որովք մոլորեալն պաշտէին զանմռունչ սողունս` եւ զճճիս վատթարս, արձակեցեր ՛ի վերայ նոցա բազմութիւն անխօսուն անասնոց ՛ի վրէժխնդրութիւն[159]:

16. That they might learn, that by what things a man sinneth, by these he is punished.
11:16 KJV [15] But for the foolish devices of their wickedness, wherewith being deceived they worshipped serpents void of reason, and vile beasts, thou didst send a multitude of unreasonable beasts upon them for vengeance:
11:17
Զի գիտասցեն թէ որովք մեղանչէ ոք` նոքումբք եւ տանջի[160]:

17. For thine all-powerful hand, That created the world out of formless matter, Lacked not means to send upon them a multitude of bears, or fierce lions,
11:17 KJV [16] That they might know, that wherewithal a man sinneth, by the same also shall he be punished:
11:18
Զի ո՛չ չքաւորէր ամենազօր ձեռն քո, որ հաստատեաց զաշխարհս յանկերպարան նիւթոյ` արձակե՛լ ՛ի վերայ նոցա բազմութիւնս արջոց, կամ առեւծս սաստիկս:

11:18
18. Or new-created wild beasts, full of rage, unknown Either breathing out a blast of fiery breath, Or blowing forth noisome smoke, Or flashing dreadful sparkles from their eyes;
11:18 KJV [17] For thy Almighty hand, that made the world of matter without form, wanted not means to send among them a multitude of bears or fierce lions:
11:19
կամ նորագործս լի՛ բարկութեամբ գազա՛նս անծանօթս. կամ հրաշունչս փորատօղս գոռոզութեան. կամ զհոսիչս ծխոյն շարաւոյ. կամ որ սաստիկ կայծակունս յաչաց փայլատակեցուցանիցեն[161]:

11:19
19. Which had power not only to consume them by their violence, But to destroy them even by the terror of their sight.
11:19 KJV [18] Or unknown wild beasts, full of rage, newly created, breathing out either a fiery vapour, or filthy scents of scattered smoke, or shooting horrible sparkles out of their eyes:
11:20
Որոց ո՛չ միայն վնասն կարօղ էր խորտակել զնոսա, այլ եւ տեսի՛լն ահիւ սատակել:

11:20
20. Yea and without these might they have fallen by a single breath, Being pursued by Justice, and scattered abroad by the breath of thy power. But by measure and number and weight thou didst order all things.
11:20 KJV [19] Whereof not only the harm might dispatch them at once, but also the terrible sight utterly destroy them:
11:21
Եւ առանց այնորիկ միո՛վ իսկ հողմով կարէիր կործանել. հալածեալք եւ հոսեալք ՛ի դատաստանաց ոգւոյ զօրութեան քոյ: Այլ զամենայն չափո՛վ եւ թուով եւ կշռով կարգեցեր[162]:

21. For to be greatly strong is thine at all times; And the might of thine arm who shall withstand?
11:21 KJV [20] Yea, and without these might they have fallen down with one blast, being persecuted of vengeance, and scattered abroad through the breath of thy power: but thou hast ordered all things in measure and number and weight:
11:22
զի մեծապէս կարօ՛ղ լինել յամենայն ժամ առ քե՛զ է. եւ զօրութեան բազկի քոյ ո՞վ է որ ընդդէմ դառնայցէ:

11:22
22. Because the whole world before thee is as a grain in a balance, And as a drop of dew that at morning cometh down upon the earth.
11:22 KJV [21] For thou canst shew thy great strength at all times when thou wilt; and who may withstand the power of thine arm:
11:23
Զի իբրեւ զմէտ մի ՛ի նժարից կշռո՛ց է ամենայն աշխարհս առաջի քո. եւ իբրեւ զկաթ մի առաւօտի՛ ցօղոյ` որ իջանէ յերկիր[163]:

11:23
23. But thou hast mercy on all men, because thou hast power to do all things, And thou overlookest the sins of men to the end they may repent.
11:23 KJV [22] For the whole world before thee is as a little grain of the balance, yea, as a drop of the morning dew that falleth down upon the earth:
11:24
Այլ ողորմիս ամենեցուն` զի յամենայնի կարօղ ես. եւ անտես առնես զմեղս մարդկան ապաշխարութեամբ[164]:

24. For thou lovest all things that are, And abhorrest none of the things which thou didst make; For never wouldest thou have formed anything if thou didst hate it.
11:24 KJV [23] But thou hast mercy upon all; for thou canst do all things, and winkest at the sins of men, because they should amend:
11:25
Զի սիրես զամենայն որ ինչ է. եւ ո՛չ գարշիս յումեքէ յորոց արարեր. զի ո՛չ եթէ առ ատե՛լ հաստատեցեր ինչ[165]:

11:25
25. And how would anything have endured, except thou hadst willed it? Or that which was not called by thee, it have been preserved?
11:25 KJV [24] For thou lovest all the things that are, and abhorrest nothing which thou hast made: for never wouldest thou have made any thing, if thou hadst hated it:
11:26
Քանզի զիա՞րդ կայր ինչ` եթէ դու ո՛չ կամէիր. եւ կամ որ ՛ի քէն չէր կոչեցեալ` զիա՞րդ պահէր[166]:

11:26
26. But thou sparest all things, because they are thine, O Soverign Lord, thou lover of lives;
11:26 KJV [25] And how could any thing have endured, if it had not been thy will? or been preserved, if not called by thee:

Խնայեա՛ յամենեսեան, զի քո՛ են Տէր ոգեսէր[167]:
