Իմաստութիւն խրատական:

1. In three things I was beautified, And stood up beautiful before the Lord and men: The concord of brethren, and friendship of neighbours, And a woman and her husband that walk together in agreement.
25:0 KJV [1] In three things I was beautified, and stood up beautiful both before God and men: the unity of brethren, the love of neighbours, a man and a wife that agree together:

Երեք են զոր ատեաց անձն իմ, եւ գարշեցայ յոյժ ՛ի կենաց նոցա:

2. But three sorts my soul hateth, And I am greatly offended at their life: A poor man that is haughty, and a rich man that is a liar, an old man that is an adulterer lacking understanding.
25:3 Three sorts of men my soul hateth, and I am greatly offended at their life:

Զհպարտ աղքատ, եւ զմեծատուն սուտ` զալեւոր պոռնիկ եւ պակասեալ ՛ի մտաց:

3. In youth thou hast not gathered, And how shouldest thou find in thine old age?
25:4 a poor man that is proud, a rich man that is a liar, and an old adulterer that doateth. KJV [3] If thou hast gathered nothing in thy youth, how canst thou find any thing in thine age? KJV [4] O how comely a thing is judgment for gray hairs, and for ancient men to know counsel:

Իբրեւ զի գեղեցիկ է ծերոց իմաստութիւն:

4. How beautiful a thing is judgement for gray hairs, And for elders to know counsel!
25:6 O how comely is the wisdom of old men:

եւ միտք եւ հանճար փառաւորաց:

5. How beautiful is the wisdom of old men, And thought and counsel to men that are in honour!
25:7 and understanding and counsel to men of honour:
25:8
Իմաստութիւն ծերոց պսակ, եւ պարծանք նոցա երկիւղ:

6. Much experience is the crown of old men; And their glorying is the fear of the Lord.
25:8 Much experience is the crown of old men, and the fear of God is their glory:
25:9
Երանեցի ինն խորհրդոց սրտիւ իմով[80]:

7. There be nine things that I have thought of, and in mine heart counted happy; And the tenth I will utter with my tongue: A man that hath joy of his children; A man that liveth and looketh upon the fall of his enemies:
25:9 There be nine things which I have judged in mine heart to be happy, and the tenth I will utter with my tongue:

մարդոյ զուարճացելոյ յորդիս, եւ կենդանւոյն տեսցէ զբեկումն թշնամեաց:

8. Happy is he that dwelleth with a wife of understanding; And he that hath not slipped with his tongue; And he that hath not served a man that is unworthy of him:
25:10 A man that hath joy of his children; and he that liveth to see the fall of his enemy:

եւ որ կայցէ ընդ կնո՛ջ իմաստնոյ, եւ որ ո՛չ լծեաց զե՛զն եւ զէշ ՛ի միասին. եւ որ լեզուաւ իւրով ո՛չ գայթագղեաց, եւ անարժանի ուրուք ո՛չ ծառայեաց:

9. Happy is he that hath found prudence; And he that discourseth in the ears of them that listen.
25:11 Well is him that dwelleth with a wife of understanding, and that hath not slipped with his tongue, and that hath not served a man more unworthy than himself: KJV [9] Well is him that hath found prudence, and he that speaketh in the ears of them that will hear:

Եւ երանեալ է ա՛ռն որ եգիտ զիմաստութիւն, եւ ո՛չ կործանեաց զնա աղքատութիւն եւ տնանկութիւն:

10. How great is he that hath found wisdom! Yet is there none above him that feareth the Lord.
25:12 O how great is he that findeth wisdom! yet is there none above him that feareth the Lord:

Որ զիմաստութիւն եգիտ` մե՛ծ է, այլ ա՛յնպէս ո՛չ է` որպէս:

11. The fear of the Lord passeth all things: He that holdeth it, to whom shall he be likened?
25:11 But the love of the Lord passeth all things for illumination: he that holdeth it, whereto shall he be likened:

25:12 The fear of the Lord is the beginning of his love: and faith is the beginning of cleaving unto him:

Բո՛ւռն հար զնմանէ որդեակ` զի չիք ինչ նման նմա:

13. any plague but the plague of the heart; And any wickedness but the wickedness of a woman;

Ընկալ զամենայն ցաւ` եւ մի՛ զվէրս սրտի: Ամենայն չարիք չար են, բայց չարութիւն կնոջ վերագոյն:

14. Any calamity, but a calamity from them that hate me; And any vengeance, but the vengeance of enemies.
25:17 any plague, but the plague of the heart: and any wickedness, but the wickedness of a woman: KJV [14] And any affliction, but the affliction from them that hate me: and any revenge, but the revenge of enemies:

գլուխ չար քան զօձի չիք, եւ չկայ թշնամութիւն չար քան զկնոջ:

15. There is no head above the head of a serpent; And there is no wrath above the wrath of an enemy.
25:22 There is no head above the head of a serpent; and there is no wrath above the wrath of an enemy. KJV [16] I had rather dwell with a lion and a dragon, than to keep house with a wicked woman. KJV [17] The wickedness of a woman changeth her face, and darkeneth her countenance like sackcloth. KJV [18] Her husband shall sit among his neighbours; and when he heareth it shall sigh bitterly:

Վիճակ չարեաց ելցէ նա, եւ ժառանգութիւն ամբարշտաց:

16. I will rather dwell with a lion and a dragon, Than keep house with a wicked woman.
25:26 All wickedness is but little to the wickedness of a woman: let the portion of a sinner fall upon her:

Իբրեւ զառ ՛ի վեր աւազի առ ոտս ծերոց, ա՛յսպէս լեզուանի կին ա՛ռն հեզոյ:

17. The wickedness of a woman changeth her look, And darkeneth her countenance as a bear doth.
25:27 As the climbing up a sandy way is to the feet of the aged, so is a wife full of words to a quiet man:

Մի՛ պատրիր ՛ի գեղ կնոջ, եւ մի՛ իգանար դու ՛ի լկնելն նորա:

18. Her husband shall sit at meat among his neighbours, And when he heareth it he sigheth bitterly.
25:28 Stumble not at the beauty of a woman, and desire her not for pleasure. KJV [22] A woman, if she maintain her husband, is full of anger, impudence, and much reproach. KJV [23] A wicked woman abateth the courage, maketh an heavy countenance and a wounded heart: a woman that will not comfort her husband in distress maketh weak hands and feeble knees:

՛Ի կնոջէ սկիզբն մեղաց, եւ վասն նորա հանապազ մեռանիմք:

19. All malice is but little to the malice of a woman: Let the portion of a sinner fall on her.
25:33 Of the woman came the beginning of sin, and through her we all die. KJV [25] Give the water no passage; neither a wicked woman liberty to gad abroad. KJV [26] If she go not as thou wouldest have her, cut her off from thy flesh, and give her a bill of divorce, and let her go:
