21:1 Եւ ննջեաց Յովսափատ ընդ հարս իւր, եւ թաղեցաւ ընդ հարս իւր ի քաղաքի Դաւթի. եւ թագաւորեաց Յովրամ որդի նորա փոխանակ նորա:

21:1 Now Jehoshaphat slept with his fathers, and was buried with his fathers in the city of David. And Jehoram his son reigned in his stead:
|
21:2 Եւ նորա էին եղբարք` որդիք Յովսափատու վեց, Ազրիա եւ Յեքիէլ եւ Զաքարիաս եւ [256]Միսայէլ եւ Սափատիաս եւ Ազարիու, ամենեքեան սոքա որդիք Յովսափատու արքայի Յուդայ:

21:2 And he had brethren the sons of Jehoshaphat, Azariah, and Jehiel, and Zechariah, and Azariah, and Michael, and Shephatiah: all these [were] the sons of Jehoshaphat king of Israel:
|
21:3 Եւ ետ նոցա հայրն իւրեանց պարգեւս բազումս, արծաթ եւ ոսկի եւ [257]զէնս, հանդերձ պարսպաւոր քաղաքօքն Յուդայ. եւ զթագաւորութիւնն ետ Յովրամայ, վասն զի նա էր անդրանիկ:

21:3 And their father gave them great gifts of silver, and of gold, and of precious things, with fenced cities in Judah: but the kingdom gave he to Jehoram; because he [was] the firstborn:
|
21:4 Եւ յարեաւ Յովրամ ի թագաւորութեանն իւրում եւ զօրացաւ, եւ սպան զամենեսեան զեղբարսն իւր սրով, եւ յիշխանացն Իսրայելի:
|
21:4 Now when Jehoram was risen up to the kingdom of his father, he strengthened himself, and slew all his brethren with the sword, and [divers] also of the princes of Israel:
|
21:5 Էր ինքն երեսուն եւ երկուց ամաց յորժամ եկաց ի թագաւորութեանն իւրում, եւ զութ ամ թագաւորեաց յԵրուսաղէմ:
|
21:5 Jehoram [was] thirty and two years old when he began to reign, and he reigned eight years in Jerusalem:
|
21:6 Եւ գնաց ի ճանապարհս թագաւորացն Իսրայելի, որպէս արար տունն Աքաաբու. վասն զի դուստր Աքաաբու էր նորա կին, եւ արար չար առաջի Տեառն:
|
21:6 And he walked in the way of the kings of Israel, like as did the house of Ahab: for he had the daughter of Ahab to wife: and he wrought [that which was] evil in the eyes of the LORD:
|
21:7 Եւ ոչ կամեցաւ Տէր սատակել զտունն Դաւթի վասն ուխտին զոր եդ ընդ Դաւթի. եւ որպէս ասացն ցնա` տալ նմա ճրագ եւ որդւոց նորա զամենայն աւուրս:
|
21:7 Howbeit the LORD would not destroy the house of David, because of the covenant that he had made with David, and as he promised to give a light to him and to his sons for ever:
|
21:8 Յաւուրսն յայնոսիկ ապստամբեաց Եդովմ ի Յուդայ, եւ թագաւորեցուցին ի վերայ իւրեանց թագաւոր:
|
21:8 In his days the Edomites revolted from under the dominion of Judah, and made themselves a king:
|
21:9 Եւ գնաց Յովրամ հանդերձ իշխանօքն, եւ ամենայն երիվարք ընդ նմա. եւ եղեւ ի յառնելն նորա գիշերի, եհար [258]Եդովմ զայնոսիկ`` որ պատեցին զնա, եւ զիշխանս կառացն. [259]եւ փախեաւ զօրն ի բնակութիւնս իւրեանց:

21:9 Then Jehoram went forth with his princes, and all his chariots with him: and he rose up by night, and smote the Edomites which compassed him in, and the captains of the chariots:
|
21:10 Եւ ի բաց եկաց Եդովմ ի ձեռանէ Յուդայ մինչեւ յօրս յայս. յայնժամ ապստամբեաց Ղոբնա ի ձեռանէ նորա ի ժամանակին յայնմիկ. վասն զի [260]թողին զՏէր Աստուած հարցն իւրեանց:

21:10 So the Edomites revolted from under the hand of Judah unto this day. The same time [also] did Libnah revolt from under his hand; because he had forsaken the LORD God of his fathers:
|
21:11 Քանզի արար իւր բարձունս ի քաղաքսն Յուդայ, եւ պոռնկեցոյց զբնակիչսն Երուսաղեմի, եւ մոլորեցոյց զՅուդաս:
|
21:11 Moreover he made high places in the mountains of Judah, and caused the inhabitants of Jerusalem to commit fornication, and compelled Judah:
|
21:12 Եւ եկն նմա գիր յԵղիայէ մարգարէէ, եւ ասէ. Այսպէս ասէ Տէր Աստուած Դաւթի հօր քո. Փոխանակ զի ոչ գնացեր դու ի ճանապարհս Յովսափատու հօր քո, եւ ոչ ի ճանապարհս Ասայի արքայի Յուդայ:

21:12 And there came a writing to him from Elijah the prophet, saying, Thus saith the LORD God of David thy father, Because thou hast not walked in the ways of Jehoshaphat thy father, nor in the ways of Asa king of Judah:
|
21:13 այլ գնացեր ի ճանապարհս թագաւորին Իսրայելի, եւ պոռնկեցուցեր զՅուդա եւ զբնակիչսն Երուսաղեմի, որպէս պոռնկեցաւ տունն Աքաաբու, եւ զեղբարս քո զորդիս հօր քո, զլաւագոյնսն քան զքեզ, սպաներ:

21:13 But hast walked in the way of the kings of Israel, and hast made Judah and the inhabitants of Jerusalem to go a whoring, like to the whoredoms of the house of Ahab, and also hast slain thy brethren of thy father' s house, [which were] better than thyself:
|
21:14 եւ ահա Տէր հարցէ զքեզ հարուածովք մեծօք ի ժողովրդեան քում, եւ զորդիս քո եւ զկանայս քո եւ զամենայն ստացուածս քո:
|
21:14 Behold, with a great plague will the LORD smite thy people, and thy children, and thy wives, and all thy goods:
|
21:15 եւ դու չար հիւանդութեամբ եւ ախտիւ որովայնի հաշեսցիս, մինչեւ ելցէ որովայն քո հիւանդութեամբն հանդերձ` աւուրց յաւուրս:
|
21:15 And thou [shalt have] great sickness by disease of thy bowels, until thy bowels fall out by reason of the sickness day by day:
|
21:16 Եւ յարոյց Տէր ի վերայ Յովրամայ այլազգիս, եւ զԱրաբացիս եւ զմերձաւորսն Եթէովպացւոց:
|
21:16 Moreover the LORD stirred up against Jehoram the spirit of the Philistines, and of the Arabians, that [were] near the Ethiopians:
|
21:17 եւ ելին ի վերայ Յուդայ եւ հարստահարէին զնա. եւ դարձուցին զամենայն պատրաստութիւնն զոր գտին ի տան արքային, եւ զուստերս նորա եւ [261]զդստերս նորա. եւ ոչ մնաց նմա որդի, բայց Ոքոզիաս միայն` կրտսերագոյն յորդիս նորա:

21:17 And they came up into Judah, and brake into it, and carried away all the substance that was found in the king' s house, and his sons also, and his wives; so that there was never a son left him, save Jehoahaz, the youngest of his sons:

21:18 Եւ յետ այսր ամենայնի եհար զնա Տէր ախտիւ որովայնի որոյ ոչ գոյր բժշկութիւն:
|
21:18 And after all this the LORD smote him in his bowels with an incurable disease:
|
21:19 Եւ եղեւ աւուրց յաւուրս, [262]իբրեւ եկն ժամանակ աւուրցն նորա, յերկուս աւուրս ել որովայն նորա հանդերձ ախտիւն``, եւ մեռաւ ի չար հիւանդութեանն յայնմիկ. եւ ոչ արար նմա ժողովուրդն [263]յուղարկութիւն, իբրեւ զյուղարկաւորութիւն հարցն նորա:

21:19 And it came to pass, that in process of time, after the end of two years, his bowels fell out by reason of his sickness: so he died of sore diseases. And his people made no burning for him, like the burning of his fathers:
|
21:20 Էր ամաց երեսուն եւ երկուց յորժամ թագաւորեաց, եւ զութ ամ թագաւորեաց յԵրուսաղէմ. եւ մեռաւ ոչ գովութեամբ, եւ թաղեցաւ ի քաղաքին Դաւթի, եւ ոչ ի գերեզմանս թագաւորացն:

21:20 Thirty and two years old was he when he began to reign, and he reigned in Jerusalem eight years, and departed without being desired. Howbeit they buried him in the city of David, but not in the sepulchres of the kings:
